...and this left me feeling empty. Seriously. I was reading, and Rikku's emotions just sort of came out of the computer and whapped at me a bit and I feel like crying because this is a beautiful piece. Rikku loves big, and I felt it, and when she was leaving my heart fell. It just... fell.
And then the pudding part. Yup. here come the tears. Guess it's not so much emptiness that I feel as it is... utter sadness. Ah, stories do this to me all too often...
This, my dear, is a great fic.

Wow. I'm not a fan of Auron/Rikku, mainly because I just can't see the pairing working (Auron being dead is a slight problem after all), but I absolutely love this story! Your characterisation of Rikku is perfect! The writing flows so well too; it really sounds like you've got into her head, and I love the little ending scene too.

My gosh. I friended you by the SECOND FRIGGIN' PARAGRAPH, when I got to the bloated tick phrase, of all things (the comment about Shelinda also slew me. Poor Shelinda). I haven't done anything that impulsive since 1988 when I was driving home and heard Orinocco Flow on the radio and had to turn around and drive 20 minutes back to the nearest music store and buy a casette by this new Enya person.
(And, in passing, at this age, I can write about half as well as most of the fanfic writers I read. I keel you all now. Anyway.)
This is the first Aurikku I have uncategorically adored. It's Rikku in all her glory, and it's Auron in all his obnoxious curmudgeonliness, and you capture exactly why we love the stupid bastard and all want to plant dry paper pinwheels in the desert for him because that's about right for him.
The blitzball with the goofy paint job for poor goodnatured bozo Tidus (sticking his head in pots) is so sweet. The Al Bhed graveyard is brilliant. All of it is brilliant.
I think I just found my new favorite author besides cupcakemonster for throwing words around and making them go jiggle-jiggle-jiggle. It seems to be a knack shared by the best Rikku authors (as opposed to the sea of pandemonium that comprises the rest).
I will now go sulkily back to my Lulu corner and poke at words like tangled hair until I get the damn things to unknot themselves and let me paint storms with them.

wow, you did a great job on this fic. I can't remember ever crying whilst reading a story. And I cried while I read this-actually, I cried alot...
Very, very well done. I like your whole idea and you kept the characters 'in-character' that's one thing I hate about some fanfictions-what's the point writing about a specific character and then change their personality...people might as well just make up another character of their own.
Um, few minor grammar errors-but, hey...who doesn't have those in a story?
Vantastic job.
Peace out!

9Glass Mermaid
I read this story a while back, when I had no internet connection and downloaded a ton of Aurikku's to disc, then read them at home. Later, when I got my connection, I thought that I had reviewed, but lo and behold, I went to double check and I had not. This is a grievous error on my part, Gaurdian1, because this is my all time favorite Aurikku. I've read it countless times. I adore everything about it, and I feel like I slapped myself in the face by not showing you my appreciation. I love you amazingly poignant imagery, your ideas about Al Bhed culture, your sinfully simple dialogue, and most of all, your perfect insight into Rikku. She is as she is, and you captured her essence masterfully. To me, this story is how she dealt with her grief before X-2.

Sweet and sentimental, to the point where I can feel tears pricking at the eyes and it's not even -sad-, so much as touching and the reality of Auron and Rikku's story hits. Amazing read, and even sort of nicely ties into the sequel game, if unintentionally. :) Brilliant imagery and orignal take on Al Bhed philosophy, and excellent handling of Rikku's internal thoughts. She's so Rikku, it hurts and it's good and filling.

2Oreth Adablaer
That was adorable. It had me laughing and close to tears in the same sentence. I love the flow, how it jumps from idea to idea just like Rikku's thoughts. Very few people manage to capture Rikku in quite this way, and I love how you wrote her character and how she feels about Auron, in a still believable way.
And I adore the bit about the pudding. =)

I am teary eyed and giggly and happy and sad and proud of Rikku and hopeful for everything and BWEE.
This is the first fic I've ever read that convinced me of this pairing, and I'm so glad I found it. *Falls all over in love*

Oh. My. Gosh. I have to say that without a doubt, no matter how indecisive I am, that at this moment in time, this is my all-time favorite Aurikku ever. Honestly, I thought it was well-written and sweet. Rikku's character shone out so well. It seems even more believeable because it's got that one-sided feel to it, Rikku looking up to Auron and Auron just being Auron. This is the best Aurikku I have ever read so far and one of the best pieces of writing I've read in a long while. Congratulations. I think I love you. X_X
