How could those women not have made the connection from Emily to Lorelai?
And yes, it's Lorelai, not Lorelei.
Emily wouldn't just explode like that.
That's completely out of character for her.
She probably would have just entered the conversation, and pretended that they were all friends and set them straight.
Example. "We've Got Magic To Do"
