I've tried to find a story that I could really get in to and enjoy. After reading several of the newer posts, I decided to start with the older ones and thankfully I did. This is the first story I've read straight through.
So far you honestly have one of the most intriguing and well composed tales I've read. Despite a few grammatical errors (which we all make)the story flows well, and the approach is unique.
My only suggestion would be to clearly identify the passage of time (like with a line or break in the text), though I admire the fact you work that into the text and let the reader figure it out.
I am very excited about reading more of your stories. Excellent job!

Glorious.
I enjoyed every single line. I loved how Martin's character changed through the years and I loved Lark. Your talent for poetry is very impressive. :) And yeah, the last chapter is heartbreaking. :'(
I still can't get over what happened to Martin, even though it's not certain he's dead... Some day I will write a fanfic with an alternate ending where Martin survives his sacrifice, all is well, and the Heroine of Kvatch is named Empress. ^_~ Or something like that. ^^
Anyway, beautiful story. This is exactly the type of thing I spend hours surfing for.

Aw, the ending is so sad. I personally hated it when Martin died. My bro beat the game before me, and when I saw what happened, I told myself I'd never beat it. Still haven't. Anyway, great ending. You really do need to write more stories with Lark. He's such a good character.

I just read the entire story, and I really like it. It's an interesting different take on on game events and I think you've established a credible back story for Martin here.
I like Lark, he's a nive character. Pity he became a vampire though, the poor guy. (Even though I like Oblivion's vampires, he's just not exactly the kind of guy who likes being one)
I also love Lark's songs. Cyrodiil Ladies is great.
Well, I'm looking forward to seeing more soon.
