Sounds like your work has deviated from the canon universe, not the other way around.
No teacher I have ever known would be permitted to have a relationship with a student currently enrolled at the school where's hat teacher has been assigned, or even the district, regardless if the student is over the age of majority; teachers supervise and nurture students in loco parentis. I'm sure, given the fact hat you strive for excellence, that you can translate that statement from the Latin.
Severus and Hermione may indeed be attracted to the intelligence the other displays; I for one will give the good professor full credit for his tremendous intellect and breadth of magical knowledge he displays in canon. However, he would quickly find himself, in short order, suspended, terminated from his position, and possibly liable for prosecution. There's also the fact that Hermione, as written by Rowling, was always destined to join the One Big Happy Weasley Family. Both of these qualifications spell certain doom for the premise of your fic.

To avoid pointless flames, I feel I should explain that I don't find it "sick" or "weird" for a teacher to find a post-pubertal student sexually attractive – to some extent, a fixed age of consent is an arbitrary artificial social construct – but I do believe it is always wrong for a teacher to act on such attraction, because exploiting the inherent inequality of their positions is hard to avoid.
i dont think this is so i think they are BRILLIANT together as should be together! i LOVE severus and hermione all stories! they are BRILLIANT!as long as she etc is of age ofcourse!

In a way, I feel sorry for Harry-he's going to have to choose between Hermione/Snape and Ginny pretty soon now, and same for Ron. But Ron is used to his sister being nuts, and Harry isn't. Plus, Snape only saved Harry's life, oh how many times now? And yet, he never thanked Snape once in canon, that I recall. Plus, Harry had all those other teachers and his friends at Hogwarts; it should be clear by now that Snape never had anyone, not even his mother. (what a pity Harry is never going to show those memories of Lily to another girl; they would tell him right away that Lily was NOT a friend to Snape, and since Sirius said that James was still hexing Snape in the seventh year, and lying about it, that it is unlikely James changed that much in the three or four years before his death). But nobody is ever going to make the Boy Who Whacked Voldemort face the facts about his parents; everyone's too busy printing the legend. As bad as Harry's childhood and life has been, Snape's was worse. But as with Remus, everyone is all too willing to let Harry stay a victim, and never willing to admit that Snape was, too.
Fortunately, Hermione (in the story, less so in canon), is willing to think about relationships, and not just agonize over them.

Nice to see an update here! Many thanks! And such a loving, reassuring one, with Harry and even Ron pledging their support so solidly. Harry's openness about his doubts is particularly nice. Ginny's final thoughts about confounding a photo into unrestraint, however, leaves me puzzled. But perhaps I'll pick it up on a re-read. She's really being a twit, isn't she?

Oh dear. Harry and Ron are being so mature about this, and it's Ginny of all people who's still trying to mess things up for Hermione. I could almost believe she's jealous. Could that be it?

What's Ginny up to? Her words "Tell her there wasn't one" are a sneaky pun (and a clever one, by the writer ;) but how she'll go on, that's a thing on which one wonders...
Surely Hermione knows better than trust her, anyway, as her reaction to the boys seems to indicate, so I guess that we can wait for the next update without too much worry about the outcome of her plans :)

I think changing the story description to a quote from Ron's letter was a mistake. On the one hand, having been waiting for an update long enough I forgot which story this was, and the description didn't help me to figure that out at all. On the other hand having read this story I think it's wonderful, but if I had not yet read it and I saw that description in the feed while looking for a story to read I would immediately bypass your story because out of context it makes no sense, and I would assume the story doesn't make any sense either.
