Hmm, now having read this, I have my reservations on Sam. I hope you take Sam on a shopping trip for clothes that she would characteristically wear and give her something productive to do other than be Daniel's Farm girl. Her character was always thinking, always curious, always inventive. Lets put those skills to use even on some backwater planet. I can see Daniel being perfectly content to peruse and explore the culture and history of their civilization etc. But Sam needs to occupy herself with mental challenges to be realistic. That brain of hers ya know.
Where as I have no objection to Sam appearing Laira like occasionally, (and I say this with some cringing) but lets not forget that she's a brilliant scientist and a combat veteran with soldier's instinct. It might be easy to forget these characteristics when solely focused on romance alone.

There are a lot of stories where Sam and Daniel are stranded on other planets while separated from the team, and like in most they wake up to the feelings they have for one another. This is one of the few where they seem to be on an inhabited planet. One has to wonder though, will they regret they drunken copulation or will it be the ice finally melting? I am surprised there wasn't some person or creature watching them.

Ironically enough, I seem to have the same-ish idea...except mine involves years where Earth has to develope the technology and everyone but Jack has given up any hope of recovering them...
One of these days I'll have to write it down.
Meanwhile, it's nice to know I'm not alone.
