I am riveted! Got to this point in a few days, I can't put this down. I like that you had Lucien and Vicente onto Bellamont, just unable to prove anything,-they're not stupid and it niggled me in the game that you are seemingly so easily duped. I love the detail you've put in to the characters, how they all bonded, fleshing out the details of magic and the preparation and situations required to stealthy complete the contracts. I have really enjoyed the laugh out loud moments dotted throughout too!

You wrote a great story here and I just love your dark guardians in each sanctuary. After the purification it seemed to be so dark, but then there was a happy ending.
In short: On of my most favorite stories.
A warning, I will read all of your stories now.

I enjoyed your story a lot, event though I'm fairly new to this universe and have only really started to play Skyrim. But, you definitely made me want to check out the earlier games (not sure if that's an entirely good thing for my time-management ;p). I enjoyed the voice you used for your character and the interactions she had with the other characters, and I found the fic to be really well-written, especially for its length (though chapter 40 had a few more typos than average and occasionally they confused the plot).

Will you ever do another Dark Brotherhood story? With Lucien and a super cool female OC (like Sarielle)? Or maybe this storyline but from Lucien's point of view? If you need ideas...well...I'll be happy to post them on the reviews for you, because it will be a while until I get my own. Shoot...I really wished this story would never end, and I've read it through about seven or so times! That alone indicates a fantastic story with a very clever, creative author. I just wish I could write as good as you. Maybe I will one day, but for now, congradulations and I really am hoping for another Dark Brotherhood story with Lucien and an OC, or maybe even Sarielle again. Hey, before I forget this idea that just popped into my brain, what if you had the same characters, i.e. Vicente, Gogron, Tel, Annie, the twins, "Puss-in-boots," and let us not forget the famous (although some might say infamous) Lucien and Sari. Let's say all these guys, and maybe the new ones from the new game, all be in Skyrim during their civil war and stuff. Lucien or Astrid recruits Sarielle into the Brotherhood, and all new and "old" characters are there. Just a suggestion. I hope you have a really good day and life, because such a precious gift should not be squandered.

Whenever I read where she says "I like toys," I always laugh. Someone I know showed me this asdf video on YouTube and one clip (or should I say multipul clips (PS I can't spell)) where a guy says "I like trains..." Then a train kills him! Sorry but it's so funny! Go check it out! Have a good day!

just finished the story :) there is so much to say, but i feel speechless. i just didn't want it to end. you have given the characters so much depth, i feel as if i've known them my whole life. when i walk into the cheydinhal sanctuary i don't just see the characters as animated objects. i now see vincente as my mentor, lucien as the most dangerous, clever man i know and gogron a gentle giant. this story made me laugh, cry, and so angry i could've torn bellamont to pieces myself. im so glad you skewed the ending because i think i wouldve gone into depression because it felt like my heart was aching for Sarielle. one of the best stories ive ever read, and im quite fussy with my books. it captivated me from start to finish. im going to have a look at the other oblivion story, so thanks for the amazing read :)

love the story but i have just one question: what happens after chapter 66 after Sarielle speaks with the Night Mother? Does she allow Sarielle to go back in time? thats all :)

I absolutely loved this story, this story is on my top 5! Good job, i have to say that is an acomplishment. I am a very picky reader.

I have maybe three fics that I can remember the exact storyline and name of, and that is out of three or four years of obsessive reading, this has just been added to that small list. Actually it has made it to the top of that list, this was written extremely well and was very well thought out. Plus it's one of the few good DB stories.
Well done and thanks for the amazing read :)

Hah! I haven't reviewed THIS chapter, so I can add an addendum to my previous 'omg, you're amazing' review:
The twist. Loved it. So much. The reason it worked SO very well is all the foreshadowing and little hints you put in well before it came out in the open - the only thing I'd completely expected was that Lucien faked his own death, since that seemed the only reason to have it be a 'suicide.' Everything else... I knew you were up to something, but not what, which was perfect. And the way you wove the scenes back together with the forgotten parts in after the Night Mother commanded her to remember was more than perfect.
So, yes. I will now cease gushing, and go back to daydreaming and maybe working on my own twenty-zillion writing projects.

Holy. Shit.
Playing Skyrim recently has had me mooning over Lucien all over again, and I was browsing around on dA for art of him when I ran into a fanart that led me to your fic. I am having trouble articulating just how glad I am that I did.
This is what I have wanted to see... since before I even read or wrote fanfic, when I first played Oblivion. It is one of a VERY few Dark Brotherhood fics I've read that handled the characters in a way I responded well to, and I adore Sarielle (much unlike most of the Mary Sues I've seen in other such stories). I love how she's pragmatic and proactive in her decisions, and doesn't just swoon and let things happen to her. You show her competence and intelligence instead of just telling us that she is both those things. Her dynamic with all the other characters is excellent, but with Lucien... oh so very well-done. The seemingly-endless, slow ramp-up of their interaction was absolutely perfect, and I damn near cried several times toward the end. I've read the last... three chapters or so about five times now, they make me so happy. Lucien himself is both delicious and believable, while maintaining coherence with his actions and words in the actual game... which is about as rare as a protagonist I can stand in DB fics.
I can also really see you developing in your writing as the story progressed, and that is a wonderful thing. I was enjoying it at the beginning, of course, but the flow of writing and the characterization got much smoother and more immersive as it went on.
Thank you, so much, for this. I'll be going through your other work with relish.
