Another very satisfying one-shot. Again, you captured the characters superbly, especially describing the tension that followed the unsuccessful attack on the castle. I like how Susan talked about her brothers and how you mentioned the "surviving on apples alone" part of the book. And I just love the last line. You are good at this.

Nice. I always enjoy reading interlude fics. It fleshes out the movie for us fans, since the movie couldn't put every little thing in.
Just a thought, but would a companion fic to this piece be possible in the future? You're a good writer, and I can never get enough from the really good writers.
