The name says it all. Your story is stupid. It's not realistic at all with the story. If you're going to write like this, make a character of your own. Having Akira beat Sai is stupid. With Akira beating Sai, there's basically no plot at all. You can make Sai and Hikaru strive to better themselves but what's the use if your rival ignores you. This sucks big time.

That was clever. Made me laugh. I'm interested to see how things will develop. It's an interesting thought to have Akira be older than Hikaru and already a pro. But they lost the flyer? Will they go, or not? Well, it would be interesting to see how it turns out.

Nice divergence. I was wondering what you would do with the age difference but it looks to be pretty interesting, making Touya already established by the time Hikaru finds Sai. :)

it doesn't seem plausible that sai would be beaten by touya. after all, he wins against the meijin, and akira, without his original rivalry with hikaru, wouldn't have been pushed as far as in canon.

Um...HnG starts in fall-ish time. School been going for a little while, but not extremely long. They're still wearing lighter clothing and Hikaru meets Kaga and Kimihiro in the late winter. I'm good with times, so feel free to message me with any questions. Yeah, and Hikaru was 12. Just gonna remind you. I really like this story! It's gonna be ever harder for Hikaru to catch up with a 4 year difference. Is there any particular reason that you use one quote when people are talking? ('blah') Sorry, just most people use two ("blah"), so it threw me off. Yay, Sai! Please update!^^

Ooh, very interesting set-up. With a prologue like this I can't really tell what direction it'll be moving in, but it seems like it will definitely be interesting!
Akari going with Hikaru to discover the goban ... gosh, I thought that was highly probable. I really hope that they'll be able to patch up their friendship and sort out that misunderstanding!
And I'm interested to see how much Akira has grown on his own without an annoying rival-friend like Hikaru hanging around him :) Heh, and how the other insei treat Akira now he's a bit older than them.
Will hang on for more :) Fantastic job so far!

I can try to answer some of your Go related questions:
On multiple opponents - at the last major Go convention in the US, one amateur took on 20 opponents in a simul game. He lost most of them, but a pro could probably play 20 or 25 at once, as long as they do not play with full handicaps.
On handicaps - 6 or 7 would be a good handicap for a pretty strong amateur player in the US, though given that you want Akira to take only 1 or 2 stones against his father, the strongest Japanese pro, 8 or 9 may be more appropriate.
