It's really interesting to read this in the context of what Zuko later learns about fire bending while teaching Aang. I love how you link what Zuko believes/has been told on a personal level to the larger attitude of the Fire Nation, as well as the emotional depth you brought to Song/Zuko as a pairing.

Very interesting. Makes me think about the elements more deeply, which brings me to find that you're absolutely right.
I adore your description of fire and the people who posess it. Also, the ending. It's so true and I never really realized it.
