Eh? Isn't it obvious? Just have Ranma defeat Etemon super fast, so Devimon has no choice but to replace him with another digimon who would fill in the monkey's spots in the plot, like maybe Karatenmon or LadyDevimon as a side love interest. It's your story, you can do these things.

great story. my vote is BlackRenamon. Are you going to bring back the Curse? It doesn't seem right to have Ranma without the curse.

If you don't like it but it's important to the story, rewrite it and leave out what you don't like and keep what you do while hopefully doing something original, that's what fanfiction is all about. A good fic is an original take on an idea thats already done that takes the story in a new direction, not a copy and paste of the original story with small meaningless edits. It's about the "what if"s not the "What is"s, Keep that in mind I'll be waiting for an update.
