Something I think would have been great is having the Gray Faction suggest the Lord of Shadows was a vampiric god (Alucard from Hellsing) and in order to pass down his powers his heir had to die in combat against a enemy the heir hated and who hated them in return. Have Harry return stronger with Alucard's abilities.
