Second I hope your dad is doing good and made a full recovery from his heart sugrey. I know how that feels, how stressful it is, my grandma had to go through it. This story is awesome! xD What were George and Nora thinking, locking two teenagers in a basement together? And I like how the story ended where it began-in the basement.
My only criticism would be that you left the Emily thing unresolved. I think she deserved an apology or something.
Other than that, it was great. In character and everything. ^^ Keep writing!
