for What If? ooo Another Goblet of Fire Alternative

Harry's potential response when someone asks him if he took the song seriously:

"Of course I did - I don't trust the ministry nor any of the judges to keep a goldfish alive. Crouch did not know his own son was a death eater. Bagman was so stupid he did not know he was spying for Voldemort, Karkarof is a death eater, Maxime lies about being a half giant - Big boned my ** and Dumbledore has not been able to keep the school safe in any of the years I have been a student."

Poor Ginny, got almost what she wanted. Well done story, nothing to really add other than you may want a beta. A few words are wrong, and minor grammar problems. Nothing bad, especially in terms of FF, but I noticed as I have a nit picking habit.

Yeah, 'dress robes' are a wierd subject. If you only go off the books and their total LACK of description, they could be just about anything. As much as I hate the movies (except the first one) they portray the males as being actual robes, but the women's as various different dresses.
Personally, I thought, since they ARE in Scotland, there should have been some nod toward the kilt and it's various options, if not the full blown 'Prince Charlie' formal dress attire. Being 'old families', I'm sure Harry and Neville have family tartans, and Seamus might have an Irish one, also. Heck, half the names used in the books have their own patterns in 'ancient', 'modern', 'dress', and other options.

Sorry didn't mean to go off into a kilt rant, but I'm equal parts Scotch-Irish-English-German, and I find the Scots bit the most interesting. As I get older, and care LESS what others think, I think I'm going to get a few kilts and enjoy the 'breeze' like the guy in GoF wearing the nightgown! (grin)

This story seems so much like your other Yule Ball AU's that you probably could've just made this an extra chapter at the end of one of those

Good job, a good mesh of canon and solid plot adjustments, I look very much forward to where you take this :)

I enjoyed the logic, and fun, of your Yule Ball.
I agree that Ginny would be 'fun' and Harry, not feeling threatened, would enjoy himself. Much more so than with the poor Patil's.
Where to go from here?

I'm enjoying this-sadly, reading instead of working. I often tell readers and writers alike that writers read more than anyone-I'm well past deadline *sigh*

I consider this research *g* In what, I couldn't possibly tell you. My current book is straight contemporary, no magic included. But hey, you never know, right?

Well done so far. Some of my requests have been fulfilled in this one. Very innocent. I'm not convince t thought that Harry would bail out just like that. Let it make sense.

Greetigs

Albus Dumbledore, or All Bow to the Bumbleing Dork. After much thought I have decided he is evil. Oh Dumble is not EVIL like Tom but still he is evil. Albus Dumb as a door keeps too many secrets, has too much power, holds too many positions, and does too little. He "protects" Harry from death eaters by putting him at the Dursleys but does nothing to protect him from the Dursleys. He allows Snape to get away with mind-rape and worse while doing nothing to protect students or see they have a good education. Hogwarts has to be one of the worst places to learn in the wizarding world while Dumbledork is headmaster. I could go on for longer than this review will allow. And the way the wizarding world treats Harry, I would have just abandoned them. Its not on FFN but look for a story called "Wizards Fall" on FanficAuthors dot net. That deals with the wizzys the way they deserve.

Well its a good fir and I'll fav it and likely the sequel. Thanks for writing and sharing.

Yeah, one more to read! Loved it, like always!

That does make much more sense and I had the same opinion of their hostages when I first read the book.
