That was wonderful. I love these fics that go into the relationship between Trunks and Vegeta, whether it's chibi Trunks (he's so kawaii!) or Mirai Trunks. Yours is the second one I've read tonight (er... *looks at clock and realizes it's after 3 am* or maybe I should say this morning...), and I loved the way it showed how both of them felt, and yet how Trunks doesn't understand his father enough to realize how proud his father is of him.
I think you showed both of their spirits really well here. I love fics that go into characterization this way, and you did a good job. :-)

Ya know, it's people like you who make this site so great. I just got done reading some other DBZ fic, and the countless grammatical errors gave me such a migraine. But then, I read yours, and I just wanna say, dear Gods, praise the spirits for authors like you! It's wonderful when you can find a story that has not only good writing etiquette, but has a worthwhile imagination behind it. I'm glad there are more of us out there. ;)

In the anime, when they showed King Vegeta, he hardly seemed like a child beating asshole. If you ask me, the reason Vegeta grew up to be heartless in the first place was because of Freeza.

Great songfic! Personally I thought that was a great scene, where Vegeta and Trunks are in the gravity room. I loved how you incorporated Vegeta's past and had him compare himself to Trunks! And the thing about the tears...that's so sweet! *melts* Keep up the good work!
