Very sad, but I like the way you wrote this. Charlie was very true to his character.

Thanks, Beth

I liked your story, particularly as you described the Eppes men standing at

her grave giving support to each other. At such times you certainly need family.

I thought maybe you spent an excessive amount of your story dwelling on Charlie's

obsession with numbers. I believe you could have gotten the same effect with

less repetition.

Oh, and this is certainly no criticism, but just constructive information.

Here in the U.S. I believe Margaret's stone would have been inscribed

5-23-49 - 1-16-2004. We usually put the month first.

Welcome to Numb3rs fanfiction!

The thing I enjoy the most about the stories here are the different outlooks from different authors. Charlie is a hard character to write. Not everyone can capture his essence or his quirky personality. In my opinion, you did an amazing job of capturing him at that very vulnerable time of his life. Margaret's death hit him extremely hard for more than one reason and I think you were able to portray that.

I liked the way you had him breaking everything down into numbers and percentages, and little Charlie thinking his mother was special because her birthdate began with three prime numbers was absolutely inspiring.

Obviously, he has grown since that time, but it was very easy to see Season One Charlie here in your story. And I particularly liked that fact that Don was in the background, not in Charlie's face about the PvsNP.

Overall, a very well done first effort with only a few minor English issues - ones that were easily overlooked.

Thanks for sharing this with us and I hope to see more from you in the future.

I like this for a lot of reasons - one, because it doesn't try to rewrite show history by pretending Charlie WAS there when his mother died, two, since it doesn't rewrite show history, it doesn't seem to suggest that Charlie's feelings were bad, or that there's some right and wrong way to mourn, three, it doesn't further rewrite show history by turning Don into some kind of raving virago on the subject, again, trying to deflect attention from Charlie's actions as though he was somehow "wrong", four, it just deals with Charlie's feelings, again, without trying to make Don the bad guy and Charlie the victim. It's probably the only fic on the subject that I've ever liked - because it works honestly with Charlie and what he must have been feeling and how he dealt with it, in a way true to his character that wasn't good or bad, just part of who he is and who his mother fully understood. Consequently, I actually like the Charlie in this fic, honest and human. Very rare. Kudos.
