I'm speechless. That was an amazing take on the story.
It's so beautiful and heartbreaking to think that these characters we know and love could all just be the figment of a simple girl's imagination.

Wow. This kinda explains what I've gone through in the past, many times. Damn, I'm cryin'... This... is just... wow... And at the moment, I'm going through SOME parts of it at the moment, with my best friend, he isn't dead, but MY parents are telling me to stop thinking about him and go for someone else because he said we couldn't go out, but I can't... I can't stop thinking about him and I can't move on! He's such a dork, but that's awesome... He's smart, funny, we have so much in common, he goes to the school next to mine ['cause I go to an all girls' school :3], he's sweet, cute [which he doesn't know], he's... the most amazing guys I've ever met... 3

I saw a recomendation to read this story in the information section on a youtube video; and it's fantastic. It's opened a whole new branch of fanfiction for me to read :) You know how it goes, you're on the fence about reading fanfiction for a show you like because you're worried it'll be too weird, or wrong, or change everything the wrong way; but you take a chance and the first fic you read pushes you to either continue or retreat. It's like that. This is the first fic I've read for the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, and now I'm looking forward to reading even more.
And that probably all sounded so very random...So I will sum it up with : Loved the story :)

Your take on the true authorship of the Haruhi novels is clever, and very sweet. And some of your alternate story titles are downright hilarious (The Posthumous Harlotry of Haruhi Suzumiya - now I'd read that one :D ) Thank you for a wonderful story.

I will write more another time but I _really_ liked this story because for me one of the most poignant bits of the series is realizing part of what drives Haruhi to be such a jerkass is fear. Fear of the meaninglessness of life and having been too smart for her own good. She gazed into that dark abyss LONG before she was ready to. (And in a culture which really has very little support for getting over such a glimpse.) So having the story conclude on the note it does, with Haruhi confessing she could not bear reminding herself she's NOT that special or unique...seemed amazingly appropriate. I don't think this is the "real" backstory but it shows a glimpse of the essence of Haruhi quite elegantly. It's hard to work well in a short story and you do well here with that :)
