Finally I found a story that treats these events in such a way that it can be taken serious and appreciated.

I really enjoyed reading. Your writing style is nice and you kept the tone consistent, yet also managed to create the intended mood. You also managed for all the characters to behave as they actually would and showing the bonds they share among each other.

It never was over the top, but always reasonable.

I really have to compliment you on this, it sure is well done and among Star Trek FanFictions certainly one of the best I have seen so far.

One thing caught my eyes, however. I quote:

He recoils, staring into those horribly captivating eyes, petrified, sweating, wanting to die rather than feel their icy touch against his skin again. (Prologue)

Icy? Why Icy? Vulcans do have a higher body temperature, so this is a bit confusing. Or are you assuming that in the process of attempting a mind meld the temperature drops for some (to me) unknown reason? Sure, the "icy touch" is a often used writing style element for certain emotion, as it would make sense here, but given the facts I am not quite sure this is the right assumption on my part. If it is, it is a mistake but if it is not then I fail to understand it.

Then again, I can't remember how I learned the fact about Vulcans having a higher body temperature, it has been with me so long and maybe it is something I remember incorrectly. I am certainly not a real expert when it comes to Star Trek. It is far, far to complex for that.

Regardless, I want to thank you for both writing and sharing this story ^^

What a beautiful story you've written! There are a hundred and one things I could say in praise, but I have a feeling the review character count wouldn't allow for so many. That said, I still must heartily thank you for such an in-depth and warm character study of three of my favorite fictional characters.

The first chapter in this story was simultaneously brutal and brilliant. It clearly set the stage and called to mind all the best (or worst) emotions that the Mirror Universe inspired. I've always ached to know just what happened to McCoy after returning and whether he sought out Spock or, as your story illustrates, let it stew until it could no longer be hidden.

I love the little side notes of characterization you slip in. Uhura, Scotty, Chekov, and Sulu are all in fine form, and my favorite scene might actually be the moment when they're all on the Bridge and Kirk is too agitated to control his restlessness. The fact that Uhura is engaging in a not-so-subtle attempt at pacification and that Chekov and Sulu are increasing the Captain's agitation with their own agitation is brilliant. I can so easily see this playing out on the Bridge. And Scott's presence in the final chapters was the perfect touch to a perfect conclusion.

But of course, it was the main three who held my attention all story long. Spock's shrewd look as he suggests a mindmeld in McCoy's office had me cheering, and Kirk's combination of anger, bewilderment, caring, concern, fear, etc. all story long was exactly what I would expect from this volatile captain. And McCoy... Like Spock, I was surprised at McCoy's strength, but it rings so true to the character and you bring it out so naturally that I'm shaking my head for not having seen it before.

A fantastic story. My thanks for sharing!

I absolutely loved this story! The characterization, the bond between the three, and especially the epilogue, love, love, love! I really liked the fact that you made this story focus on their friendship and the ties between the three, never once straying to a specific pairing or what not. Very lovely job, I thoroughly enjoyed reading this!

A very well-written, insightful story. The premise is good, and your characterizations were accurate. I appreciate the obvious thought that was put into this, and you portrayed the conflict and friendship both very well between the characters. Commendable work; keep writing.

This is wonderful-I was going to wait until the end of the story to comment, but when I read that you were worried about writing Spock, I just wanted to say that I think he is very in character. You get the subtleties well (i.e. the slight tip of his head he does and calling Kirk 'Jim'). I'll comment more later, but yeah. It's nice to read a story that has a convincing Spock ;)
