So far I've really like what I've read. A crossover between Avatar and One Piece doesn't seem like it would be good at first glance but it's surprising how entertaining it is. Not to mention the idea behind it is very creative, though hopefully you won't make Katara super over powered just because she can bend water; after all merfolk and fish-people can manipulate sea water as well but that doesn't make them the most powerful race on the planet. I can't wait for the next update and hopefully Katara getting in some training so that she isn't left behind in later arcs.

i have a few ideas for katara that would make here into the crews scout.
have be able to sense where liquid is like blood for people or oil,
the difference between fresh and salt water and for the salt water be able to tell where it ends so she would be able to tell how fr an island is or how far with in reason of course.

I love the story idea, but Katara almost seams to be falling into the roll of a damsel in distress. By this point in the Avatar series she is a kick ass Water bender. You seam to be way under playing her abilities here.
