for Another Battle For the Wolf

I've said this before, but I've always admired the way you can slip into character and channel their thoughts. I couldn't help but chuckle at the line, "I shake my head, almost in disgust...a good man can do to a man." It's just perfect, and that's definitely how Saitou would react if he consciously recognized that he was growing 'soft'! But, at least he acknowledges that secretly he's pleased that she's there to see him off. (That is what Japanese otaku would call a "moe" moment - that peculiar feeling of the heart being squeezed in response to a character's actions.)

And it makes me so happy to read fics that are based in history; knowing how difficult it can be to conduct the necessary research (about Saitou's life, life in Meiji Era etc), hats off to you! Thank you so much!

Loved it! Another wonderfully satisfying chapter :D It is very apparent that the steam and the sex have made him a very happy wolf. He certainly can wax philosophical after such exertions. Again, it is wonderful to know that he appreciates Tokio so much, but I bet in the back of his head he is patting himself on the back for bagging such a beaut!

Great job as always, and I just love it when you update. Keep it going!

One of my all-time favorite chapters in all your fics. It wasn't just the romance that I loved (and I am suck a sucker for romance) but the idea that Saitou really can sit at the feet of Tokio and be more than content. I also think that a man washing a woman's hair is one of the most erotic/romantic experiences-ever.

And the Wolf nervous? That just adds even more fangirl-squeal factor to everything!

Fantabulous job!

Ah! I can review again ::cheers!::

A great chapter, and I always love reading about the Wolf in a domestic setting. He might not be the 'perfect' husband or father, but he certainly beats most by a long-shot. I just like the fact that though he might seem contianed in public while in private he has no qualms showing his appreciation and/or picking up the slack.

Great job as always!

Oh- I loved this chapter so much! You bring out Saitou's softer qualities so well. His love for Tokio and respect for her feelings is always such a wonderful thing to read when you write about them. His quiet masculinity always makes me give a huge, fan-girl sigh. You just can't help it.

I certainly can't wait to see what the next chapter will bring after they leave the dock...

I hope that you never stop writing for the Wolf and his Mate!

I am loving the way you've written this chapter. Having the point of view go from one to the other allows you to better appreciate their feelings and yearnings. I loved Tokio being so restrained, but I really loved Hajime's surrender to his men. That was cool.

I just got the alert today (yeah- and a bunch others so the system must be slow again)and I LOVED this chapter! Yes, he must be getting 'old' and 'settled' since the letter that he received caused that warm and fuzzy feeling to erupt from out of no where. Very touching how he appreciates the wife that appreciates him. Only he could appreciate the lengths that she went to make sure that he got the missive, and the personal, feminine touch that was added only for him. Also very amusing to see in such a man-like way he doesn't like his meals to get interrupted except of course unless he needs to tend to Tokio.

What a wonderful job you do with this couple. The beauty and dignity are always a joy to read. I hope that you update again soon!

Cheers,

~I~

The bond between Hajime and Tokio are deep, and you let us feel that bond. Looking forward to the reunion.

When you update it is like little jewels that pop up in my mail box! I love your Saitou introspections (and I seriously hope that you write one on his impending fatherhood! hint-hint, nudge-nudge). I really enjoy how he is starting to get 'antsy' about seeing Tokio again and their 'reunion celebration'. Even though he is a very understated man in regards to his feelings about Tokio it just brings out his romantic side even more.

Purty please write about what Saitou thinks about fatherhood?

I like the image of him smoking in a hospital bed. How very appropriate. :D He is also crafty enough to know that you get no where by ** off the hospital staff, and how it must irk him. More so, he knows that Tokio would come unglued if he had gotten hurt worse than a leg wound. I just love it when he lets bits and pieces of his regard for her shine through. It is also very interesting to see that he is having his first bout of mortality and not feeling as young as he used to be.

As always your writing is a joy to read, and I can't wait for the next chapter!

Ah- I just got a chance to review this- so sorry for being tardy.

I love his internal musings. Even though he can be a harsh man he still has things pegged pretty well. For him 'it is what it is', and if those around him are fools (and worse, can't see it) more their problem.

It is also so very sweet how the little things make him miss and respect Tokio in his life. Like how he won;t have any decent soba until he can get home. I am sure that will be reason enough for him to get the job done as quickly as possible.

Another wonderful chapter, and i can't wait for more!

I'm so glad that your Muse is back! I love reading the inner musings of the wolf. It is interesting to see his deep devotion to Tokio, and his realization that probably for the first time in his life there is someone that can truly influence his life.

I love reading your sippets into their domestic life. I would love to read one on his pov of Tokio during pregnancy, and what would be going on in his head. Would he wish for a boy or a girl? I could see him becoming slightly trepidatious at the thought of having daughter, just because it would arouse more of his protective nature.

You writing is always a joy to read, and I hope that you keep on going!
