It’d be something he’d do, really.
But you know what is REALLY scary?
I’ve seen MUCH, equally good and bad, by now. Now your fanfic reminds me so badly of a mixture of some of the BEST Mushu related things I’ve seen til today. And from all the thousand plots that I myself had in mind so far, you adopt snippets of everything and just stick it together in one huge blob of awesome, that I would have never been able to built out. *round of applause*
I was basically just waiting for “one of my characters” to pop around the corner or something like that and weep – her goes Wei, the manipulative little guardian. I have an evil spirit that’s talking JUST like him and it makes me go “Woah!” xD
And it makes me immensely proud at some point, even though I know I have nothing to do with it at all %D
Also - more signs for him being a as described ‘cunning’ tiger there – I feel god ~
“Yeah, we’d have better luck finding Chi Fu’s spine,”

“Let’s just say I got it from someone who heard it straight from the horse’s mouth. […]”

Also Grandma Fa gives immediate Boni Points to bump this up x3
A lot of fanfics leave characters out most of the time… I keep catching myself in ignoring the Gang of Three a lot of times. I should try to write a little Oneshot just for them to make things up, because they’re awesome xD

Btw, clear me up, I don’t really know what to do with the “malla” in the first paragraph.
“Kahn fulfilled his role of stealth well, keeping their target in view while ensuring the man remained unaware that he was being trailed.“
I doubt he would have minded that though, since basically Kahn was going on without a (visible) rider.
“If this place doesn’t hide something evil, then Mushu was a horse.“

“Kahn felt uneasy that the dragon’s eyes looked more reptilian, the pupils mere slits, as the pair had their standoff.“
Nice idea, I never really had the thought of reusing them x3
And Kahn and Mushu just generally clash so well together here, good job on them ;)
Your villain makes a great entrance as such one. I like his big-headed-ness and the way he’s reasoning around Zheng.
And the truly scary thought is that people with his point of view (and the same extremism) still exist around. That makes him really fleshed out.
Also, I will take a wild guess and say that he’s guardian is a tiger D
Tigers and dragons always clash perfectly together, but whatever animal that little dude is, I’m looking forward to that.

Grandmother Fa was the smartest of them all, I think.
Yeah...Mulan's attitude surprised people? I don't think it was sudden. I think it was GENETIC. No way in all the worlds did Mulan NOT get that temperament from her grandmother.

”Kahn, I’m borrowing you,” he informed the black-coated creature.
^Ho ** xD
“Mulan needs you more right now,” whispered the dragon sadly. Then, he gave a weak smile, “She needs all the luck she can get.”
^ You know, I kinda always thought that Mushu just borrowed up Cri-kee’s luck as well, because ever before that cricket appeared his life was a mess.
And I smell some really nice conflicts ahead if Mushu loses the luck he had just grown so familiar with again ~
“I will not lose face,” he shouted as he began to fall backwards.
^ I was just working on a trailer today and wanted to use this quote.
Now I understood “faith” there.
A friend of mine thought it to be “fate” as a response to the great ancestor’s bidding.
I find that rather funny now, maybe I should just peek at the subs on the DVD xD
And *drum roll* who would have thought that – it is face! You win a cookie!
And I like your attempt at the guardian-death theory ^^
Mushu struggled not to set these individuals on fire.

There are some typos here and there, but I love where you are heading anyway. I can overlook those, but you might want to reread and fix them for the other readers, just in case ^^
“One, if Stoney was a guardian and he shattered instead of waking up… what does that mean? Was he dead? How did he die if he is?”
One of the greatest Plotholes that ever bothered me as well to be true.
I just think he died because he was in an “inactive stone state” which would result in Guardians only being immortal when they’re actually active and capable to be blown away by dozens of bombs ;D
Why he didn’t wake up… I’m not too sure about that, maybe Mushu just used the wrong frequency. (I mean he woke up the Ancestors in the temple and still no other guardian, that would have needed to happen separately, so… nah I dunno)
It’s all just theory and I’m fairly open and taken in with your version of all of this, so… go on 8D
