Dear Gondolier, I didnt manage to review HL5 before it was pulled, so Ill put my review in here. I hope you dont mind!
I am blown away by your writing. really, I am. HL5 is one of the best novels Ive ever read - fanfic or original. I hope you know what a fantastic writer you are and I hope to read so much more from you. Ok, so what do I like about HL5? You wrote a deep, believeable, touching, beautiful story with characters that feel deep and REAL. Your characterisation of all characters is fantastic and much deeper then what Stefanie Meyers wrote. You made me FEEL why your Bella and Edward are it for each other, why they work so well. You also made me FEEL what went wrong and how they are both to blame for that. And the way they work it out is heart-wrenching and feels real without becoming chliché. I understand why your characters - Bella, Edward, Charlotte, Carlisle - do what they did. You see the grey between the black and white. I dont for a second think that the way Esme and Carlisle handled Edwards illness is right, but I think it wouldnt have made a big difference if Bella had known earlier - Edward is right that it wouldnt have saved their relationship because he wasnt ready to talk to her and .WANT. to involve her in it. And I see that Bellas way of avoiding their problems and putting Edward on a pestral made it impossible for him to be more honest to her. There are so many stories (especially in fanfic) that tell us that love will conquer it all, but unfortunately thats not true. Sometimes there is nothing you can do. Love is not always enough, and sometimes people need a lot of time to sort through their issues and are just not ready. I know from my own experience that there is no way to help someone who is not ready.

I am beyond thrilled that you are publishing it and I cant wait to have a copy in my bookshelf. Some things that would make HL5 maybe even better, at least in my opinion:
- we see B & E through manic episodes, but not through depression. Id love to see some of that.
- Id love to see more about his "coming out" with his disease and the reactions. You tell us at the end of HL5, but you dont really show us. Dialoge between their friends and Edward for example. More details.
- cant wait for more detailed secondary characters (Alice, Rose, Emmett) that you are promising!

THanks so much again,
love, Nina

Please know how very much I enjoyed HL5. It is by far the finest fanfiction and definitely worthy of publication. I'd buy it!

I hope that you and your baby are enjoying yourselves and each other.
Thank you for a wonderful story.

Unfortunately, I am one of those who had bookmark the link to read this story but because of RL couldn't before. So the first question is did you publish it? If so where/what title?
Good luck with your publication process and I am sorry I missed one the legend of this fandom.
Bises.

I can't even believe this, but was thinking of HL5 and looked for it, and found you did what I had always hoped and pulled the story for publishing. I have ALWAYS thought such a deeply profound story should find it's way to mainstream. You can't imagine (or maybe you can) how many people could find hope in your words. I have long been an HL5 zealot, with untold re-reads, obsessing endlessly with the story and the way various scenes played out. This Edward and Bella STILL haunt me, I just can't shake their song. The 18-year-old son of one of my dear friends was recently diagnosed with bipolar after a heartbreaking hospitalization. They are hanging in there, but they will always struggle. I'm so very glad that you will publish, and I've always said in my reviews that the fight that those with any mental illness wage (and their family members share) is a brutal one, but one that deserves much-needed exposure. I'm proud to support you with this.

Much fond regard,
Christina

I couldn't send you a PM, so I am going to use this space to tell you how wonderful I think it is that you are re-working HL5 and publishing it. My only concern is that you intend to split it into two parts. I think your creation could become an "important" piece of literature and I am not sure that books published in parts are looked upon that way (outside of kiddie lit). Of course, I am not in the publishing business, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I think HL5 has the potential to change the way people view those who have a mental illness. I know it helped me to empathize more with my own grandfather and mother (bi-polar I and II respectively). Other authors (Wally Lamb, I'm looking at you) left me with a bad taste for the character with the mental illness after reading their stories.
I wish you the best and will try to keep abreast of your book. And I will be recommending it to everyone I know even though this will "out" me as a reader a fanfiction to my friends and acquaintances (my family knows).
