Wow. just... just wow that's really good.
Also really deep, he and Troph would get along famously in this story.
I really like all the work, of yours, I've read so far. and this story has great potential, if it's not just Embers shadow that is.

Curious.
Three years on a ship, and completely blind. Wow. Right there Zuko is far beyond anything I would expect from anyone normal. Very interesting.
And Iroh makes me grin. Thank you old man for giving that kid hugs. He so desperately needs them.

I'm very interested to see what you can do with this idea. Given the development in the relationship with Toph and Zuko in Embers it would be interesting to see it here. I am fascinated with the way you characterize both Uncle Iroh and Zuko. The sight impairment adds a new depth to that relationship. Very interested to see where it goes.

So glad to hear you're planning on making this a longer AU eventually! This is what turned me on to Embers, and I somehow missed the very bottom of the footnote the first time round, so it was a happy surprise!

I like this idea, trauma like Zuko's eye would need serious medical care and partial blindness would be basically guaranteed. The avatar universe probably wouldn't have that type of care I was willing to ignore it for obvious reasons, but now that it has been brought up I'd like to see what you might do with it. Between this and Embers you've manage to peg to of the things I've always wondered about in the avatar verse. Good job.

Just when I thought it would be hard to get another story worthy of Embers you come up with this plot! It really is a wonderful, realistic premise and I hope that when you do end the Embers story, you take this one up!
