for Alan's Bad Day

7/10/2012 c1 Guest
That was the funniest story I have read in a long time. To bad I was reading it at 1 in the morning and had to be quiet. :) Keep writing like that. I'll be on the lookout

that was just adorable and cute! I loved it! Just what I needed to make me smile. Poor kiddo, one bad thing after another. I know how that feels. Had days like those and on my birthday too. Oh well... we move on right?

Great job!

Poor Alan! I've definitely had days where one thing after another seems to keep happening, but his day took the cake!

I do like how his family remembered his birthday even with something as pressing as Gordon's health looming overhead (especially as it was spear-headed by Gordon). It just goes to show, those brothers watch out for each other - in all ways.

Tracy Family love. Can't have too much of that, can you? I think not.

Excellent!

Aw, poor Alan. And you are awful. Even I never dropped a hot baked potato in Alan's lap.

I love it but poor Alan. All that in one day! Imagine what a week would do to him.

I just got a very strange look when i read that last line, i laughed so much!

Poor Alan! This was brilliant, i felt so sorry for him (the clumsy girl in me can sympathise), but at the same time, was laughing a lot!

Thanks for a brilliant read! :)

Loved it, Phx! But poor Alan! What a sucky way to spend your 18th birthday. I was so glad that they all took him out to eat. A situation like that, it'd be so easy to ignore Alan's birthday, but I think it's important to remind him that he's important and special too.

Very nicely written as always! Great story!

Ouch! I've had days like that too.

Poor Alan - happy birthday anyway!

Poor Alan! Bad luck does tend to come in runs, but that's a bad one, and you've got to feel for him.

I liked the way you set this against the backdrop of Gordon's accident - the contrast between the humour and the serious side of what was happening gave both an added impact. Alan's family were never going to forget his birthday, but it's no surprise that he expects them to.

Well written - as always - entertaining and very sweet. Thanks for posting.

I really enjoyed this short story! The character relation and descriptions of what is going on are very detailed and eloquent and I appreciate the beautiful flow of your words very much.

I really like this idea. Seeing Alan struggle with an awful day and Gordon being grievously injured on top of that, on Alan's birthday to boot... well, ouch! It was very interesting and kept me hooked until the end! ^_^

Great job, and I hope to see more of these wonderful Thunderbird stories from you in the future!

I really enjoyed this! It was hard not to feel for Alan as his luck went from bad to worse all day long.

Loved this line in particular: "It was one thing being exposed when he was hurt or sick or something but in a dumped up position in the shower like a deflowered virgin on her wedding night? No, friggin' assed way!"

Sounded so exactly like Alan... or any other 18 year old boy, for that matter.

And I knew the family wouldn't let him down, either. Loved the way he realized that Gordon hadn't had a very good birthday either.

A very nice way to end my day... thanks for sharing it!
