Every so often I keep coming back to some of the stories that stick with me, that I keep remembering, parts of, specific lines from them. Today my friend said something that prompt me to read parts of this story again.
I LOVE this story! I love how you write them, how you always make a nice twist with the whole background plot going on that will ultimately lead us to the grand J/C revealing of emotions finale.
What makes a great J/C writer for me? There are but a few.
It's this feeling at dawn, after spending the night with the story before I go back to work, feeling of utter content and a satisfied grin I wear most of a day, no matter how difficult the day turns out to be. So, Thank you for writing and sharing your stories, for I always have that after reading one of yours.

I love how wonderfully you write these two. You never step out of line with their personalities or their habits. My biggest pet peeve is an author who twists a character so far that they're no longer recognizable. Anyhow, you once again have done an amazing job, and I shall continue reading your wonderful work. D

I can't believe I put this story on my favorites list over a year ago, and didn't post a review! I must have meant to come back to it and then somehow forgot, so please forgive my rudeness! So, what prompted me to come back here now is that I just took you along on vacation with me, your stories that is, LOL! I spent the better part of my reading time on the beach reading all but two, I think, of your longer stories that I'd been saving up and, of course, I ended up reading this again! I SOOOO LOVE THIS STORY! MY favorite line.. "Only in your dreams, Chakotay." "Every damn night, Kathryn." Oh yeah, ummm, that line was so perfect, it gave me the chills. The whole story was great and the last couple of chapters where she describes what happened between them, was pretty damn erotic and so well done! And the epilogue was perfect! Thank you and sorry about the late review :-)

What a great read! Even without the J/C stuff that we all know could never happen in the show, I like your story better than the actual episode! Honestly, taking Janeway and Chakotay adds more tension to the story and I loved how at the beginning the reader's as clueless as to what exactly happened as they are!
And I just loved how they started speculating about what on earth might have happened those two nights they couldn' remember. The blushing and awkwardness was so much fun to read!
Also I think you write the characters very well, their dialogue sounds just like it would in the show.

I LOVED this story. I love how you get to explore some of KJ's darker memories, and I thought you did a good job with the characters of Guill and Frane, etc.. They were totally evil but not cardboard cutouts either. The interactions that you write between J/C are also very believable. I've often played with different scenarios in my mind trying to imagine scenarios where the characters we actually saw on the series would have gotten together while still on the ship. There aren't very many of those situations that I find genuinely plausible, but this is one. And when Chakotay says, "How would you feel if I kissed you now," I literally felt my heart drop into my stomach. I love when a story is so vivid that I can react that viscerally. Anyway, great job. Thanks for sharing this.

just read this entire story. Loved it. I would have much preferred that this was the actual episode. so much better. Getting it on at the end fit really well. :)

That's so creepy. I haven't seen seasons 1, 2 and 3 so I don't know that much about the cardassians, but they sound like real jerks.

You have so many different styles: it is always fun to see what you do and where you go. This happened to be one of my least liked episodes, and yet you made it worth the read, even though you did change the scenario. And the take on their getting together was so credible, much more than most stories. Chapter 12 was great, and the epilogue was, as a J/C fan, soft and warm and easy. Very nice.

Nice sweet ending. I like that little hanging detail about the scar. But I do wish this could have a companion piece, like what exactly were the memories that were stolen from Chakotay? Or how about B'elanna's, and Tom's experiences when they had their memories stolen? Or maybe you could give us a glimpse of the crew's reaction when they finally started remembering everything when the memory blocker finally fades. That will be interesting for both Janeway and Chakotay as well.
