Thanks for the story, it was enjoyable, even though we disagree on Charlie. It's not just you, I get very frustrated at fanfic writers who have Charlie fighting criminals, when after all, he's a math teacher. I always wonder how those writers would feel if someone had Don taking over Charlie's classes and acting like HE was the one who was brilliant at math, instead of Charlie. Never the less, thanks for posting.

Thanks for posting, but I do have some trouble with this chapter. Frankly, instead of feeling guilty, I think EVERYONE should be mad as hell at Charlie. By ignoring Don's advice and deciding to take on the mob his actions were foolish, selfish, inconsiderate and egotistical. Everyone would have been spared a lot of grief and worry if Charlie had actually listened to his brother (you know, the one who is TRAINED to fight criminals?). I hope Don sticks to his guns and refuses to let Charlie work with him any more. Any member of a team like Don's who refuses to follow orders from the boss is a liability to the rest of the team. Charlie should be REAMED.

Happy to see the update! And honestly, I really do like Charlie, I'm glad the little dweeb is going to recover. But I STILL hate Charlie death watches! Anyway, I'm very happy you've stuck with this story,and that Charlie's been found and is on the mend. Thanks for posting.

This was well written, but I still loathe Charlie deathwatches, unless, you're actually going to go all the way and kill the little twerp off. However, I don't suppose you'll really do that. Yes, I know I'm suppose to be all sorry for Charlie, but mostly he irritates me-he should have listened to Don and left with Alan. If he had, Don could have concentrated on doing his job instead of searching for his kid brother. When (if?) Charlie recovers, he needs to remember that he's a math teacher, not a crime fighter.

The image of Alan sitting in his injured son's empty bedroom is absolutely heartbreaking but having Don come in to be there for him was beautiful.

Your story is really great and I agree with notsing. It was Charlies arrogance that put him in danger.
Please continue your story. I already read it in German and I know how it ends, but it is fascinating to see it in english

I just hope at some point you have Don remember it was Charlie's extreme arrogance that got him into trouble. Don is the brother trained to go after criminals, not Charlie. It's Don's job, not Charlie's, to fight criminals, and Charlie's no more prepared to go against the mob than Don is to teach one of Charlie's advanced math classes!

I know English is not your first language (let's not discuss when I tried to do French - Parisian, not Quebec like my Grandmere spoke - in a story using on-line translation}, so I thought I would ask.
Still addicted to this story, and glad you are not rushing to an end. Agnst should be savored.
