You have a descent story here. I wasn't sure about it at first but it's pretty good so far. Keep up the good work. I would like to say, be careful of what you put in your author notes. You let a couple of plot points slipped that could have been better if you hadn't revealed them. Sure since this is a Herald story and you mentioned an upstart filly in the summary there was a high chance of Gadriel being chosen, but you could have just had them be soul bonded or something wacky.
Also as my creative writing professors keep telling me, "Show don't tell, it makes for a better story." Anyways have a good weekend, I can't wait for the next update.

Glad you got your open office back up and running. Nice to see Gadriel and Marlong are getting along. Very Herald like seeing as Heralds are working towards as harmonise Valdemar as possible.

I love what you've got so far and am happy to read on :} My only issue would be that Dalina doesn't know what Gadriel is. I've always been under the impression that Heralds cannot hide things from their Companion. Is it different due to the fact that Gadriel is a dragon? Just curious :}
