Greetings, fellow author! Eka ai fricai un Shur'tugal! I love this story, Recollections. It makes me think of my life and how tainted it has been. This is going to sound a little morbid, but I'm a orphan; my parents died in a car accident when I was six. I have no siblings, and the people I live with aren't very nice. A lot of times I feel like Murtagh, trapped in a situation that I can't get out of, no matter how hard I try. Well, anyway, I am currently trying to write an Inheritance Cycle series of short stories, called the Through My Eyes series. So far it's been going well. Thanks for the story and keep up the good work! May your sword stay sharp and your mind sharper! Atra gulia un ilian tauthr ono un atra ono waise skolir fra rauthr. May wyrda be kind to you. Yawe.

Short chapter but meaningful, as always. A piece of art, given with so few words. How can you do it, to speak directly to my heart like this? Well done!

A very wonderful and well written chapter. If it hadn't been for "Paolini's Faulty Logic", this would be a perfect explanation of events that even CP thought better to leave couched in confusion...
Imagine the Murtagh who risked his life freeing Eragon from the ra'zac, then again from the Gil'ead prison, after that fighting with the Varden at Farthen Dur, and later he would again spare his brother on the Burning Plains knowing full well that he and Thorn would be punished for it afterwards...
Does this sound like a man who has no idea of self sacrifice? Paolini created this illogical scenario {so I do not fault you.}
All you did was take the illogic you were given to work with, and make it as attractive and palatable as literarily possible. So...
Great Job! XD

Well, if you intend to follow the books chronologically, I hope to see more of this pairing. If you wrote this in ten minutes, then know that I am impressed... Nice and accurate, I would say.

This one, may be short, but I think, it enclosed the meaning of every lost relation. Great as always.

This brought so strong emotions, that, almost, caused tears. And I never cry. This one-shot was excellent.

Years of healing, a lifetime maybe is needed for those who have become the pawns in hands of Evil. Fortunately for him, he has many long years to live. :) Well written.

I vote in favor of Thorn. 'Forever' is too long to enclose the hope inside it. And tomorrow always comes. Nice one-shot.

An interesting development of the concepts of sin and regret as applied to Murtagh. Well-written, too. Poor Murtagh, being forced to do horrible things and having to suffer regret afterwards.

Sad about Wyrda... but I can wait...
:)
This chapter was... depressing. But I still enjoyed reading it. It adds a level to the red rider's situation that CP was either unaware of, or insensitive towards.
Great job.

Here I return to finish reading and it seems like there's been some shuffling of chapters taking place... hopefully a sign that the story lives ;)
Very interesting and profound, if somewhat depressing - and rightly - insight into Murtagh's mind. Good thing he's got Thorn there to be with him... it's a good read and I hope to see some sort of continuation, preferably dealing with events from Inheritance, if it's possible.

I love the balance your Thorn gives to Murtagh's darker thoughts...
And I like how you touch on Eragon's naivety. It was always a sore spot to me that Eragon is oathed to kill M&T, but still urge them to choose to change... As if suddenly he would forgive the death of his adopted dwarven father.
Great chapter.
