merlin is an extremely hard character to write, bt you did it amazingly, so kudos to you. i tried to write him and failed so i deleted the story!

I think the juxtaposition really did come across. I was going to say that as much as Arthur is "annoyed" by Merlin, or doesn't like what he was saying about Gwen, he knows he's getting the truth from a friend and that's what he needs to hear. Merlin only has Arthur's (and Gwen's) best interests at heart. Whereas Morgana is just an evil bint who can't be trusted :-(. I hope Gwen realises she isn't alone though, I'd love to see some of the best friend bond she has with Merlin in the show translate into this story - their friendship is ridiculously adorable! Anyway, good work with this chapter, I eagerly await the next one!

I wanted to add from last chapter: I love their "reasons". Rationalty out the window? No, these reasons are intelligent and (in my opinion) wise.

I LOVE this so much! It's so well-written, and the characterisation is great and I love how you've portrayed Arthur and Gwen's love and care for each other but also kept it in-keeping with the show in that she's still worried about their future and he's determined to be optimistic. I love that they can find some sort of comfort and safety in sleeping together, it's so sweet. I am wondering where things will go from here, though.
Also Merlin in this chapter was brilliant, you captured his dynamic with Arthur brilliantly. Can't wait to see how he teases them in the next chapter. Great work, keep it up!
