The bathroom sounds nice, and I think a simple look, easy on the makeup, is always most effective. She's a teenage girl after all, she doesn't need a lot of junk to look good.
So she told her story.
I like how you took control of the abandonment story, and set it in the Cullen house, and included a promise to return for her. Then of course Edward lost control, not good. Wonder what would have happened if Carlisle, Jasper or Emmett had returned to say good-bye in June, not being able to just leave her, and learned what Edward had done?
