Pushing a few spelling errors aside, this was one of the best things I've ever come across on FF.net, and it's only a small oneshot. The best thing about it would have to be the way you showed Ven's thoughts. I can identify each and every character in here, and I'm telling you, you described 'em awesomely. (Is that an actual word? Well, whatever, you get the picture, right?)
It's deep, man, deep. It's linked to canon quite nicely, and it shows the main character's feelings PERFECTLY. (I can't stress that word enough.)
You can probably figure out how I was led here. From how you wrote this, I can tell you're a smart fella. Whoops, been rambling again. Gotta go before I bore you to sleep. You don't mind if I fave this, right?
