for Harry Potter, in a Nutshell2/8 c1

This is honestly the best fic I've ever read.
Your interpretation of the first book was perfect. I've questioned it myself, but the awkward, dubious silence was just magnificent.
My favorite was probably for book three. Because really, when does Harry ever do what he's directly told? It's absolutely fabulous.
Truly amazing story, I just love it xD

Woah. That was rather...Wow.
Very nice! Half the time reading this I had to go back to the actual book and re-read the bit!
That's me, weirdo-have-nothing-else-to-do
But, I liked the idea!
Keep on writing! I wanna see you get 100 stories!

"Actually Professor, I can do it in just one: shit."
That is pure fanfiction gold.
This was wonderfully hilarious and beautifully stupid.

Oh, this was hilarious - I think my favorite one was probably the one for OotP, followed closely by CoS. They were really all just so funny and accurate. Nice job!

"One nauseating epilogue." I could not agree MORE. I am so glad I am not the only one who thought the epilogue felt way out of place. The book would have been a lot better without it, in my opinion.
Cute little fic, by the way. Thanks for the laugh. :)

That was a wonderful story and although nothing can come between me and my unquenchable thirst for CrossGen, that was a highly entertaining story. You managed to pick some of my favourite parts of the series and bring the total irony to my attention, or over-simplify the plot in a way that couldn't help but be hilarious. By any chance, do you have tumblr? Your sense of humour would fit in perfectly there. Anyway, onto the main part of my review:
'"I'm a what?"
"A wizard."
"...?"'
I have to say that looking back, it's amazing how readily Harry accepted his status as a wizard so quickly, after his initial assumption that it was a case of mistaken identity... which, as you've brought to my attention, was pretty funny because of how he was prepared to embrace the fact that there was a wizarding world out there, just not for him. Also, your use of the awkward silence is masterful.
Your interpretation of CoS was fabulous:
'"Her skeleton will lie in the Chamber forever," said the bloody message on the wall.
(A few hours later): "Ginny! You're safe!"'
Ah, dramatic hindsight. In a way, you made it seem laughable that after all of the panic and the angst, Harry found Ginny and she was more or less fine.
What else I couldn't help but notice, perhaps because of my own prejudice against the Weasley family in general, was a certain subliminal message. It looked as though, with the colon beside the bracket, you had drawn a sad face because Ginny was recovered. If so, you hit the nail on the head. I rather wish she hadn't been, so thank you for realising my morbid little fantasy.
Number three rocked, too:
'"Sirius Black has escaped from the wizard prison, Azkaban, which no one has ever done EVER. And he's after you, Harry. You need to be careful!"
"ORLY?"'
Rowling characterised Harry as being a down-to-Earth, polite young man, and as I have always had an overactive sarcasm gland, I often found the kindness he directed towards those who had failed him to be difficult to relate to. I found this parody to be particularly refreshing because, with all of the warnings about the bloody obvious that were directed towards him, I could easily imagine a teenager snapping and giving into the urge to use that glorious, lowest form of wit.
I'm also tempted to learn to use photoshop to make this into a de-motivational poster...
What I liked about the GoF parody was this:
"Sure he is, Harry."
Aside from, you know, watching one of his classmates being murdered by the man who killed his parents and, however unintentionally, supplying said dark wizard with the blood he needed to return, you managed to show why Harry's fourth year was a bad experience in many ways. Nobody believed him. Although I felt sorry for him, it was also pretty damn funny. XD
I think that the OotP parody was my favourite:
'"Alas, Harry, I fear that there is no way to accurately summarise how this year has been for you in just a few words."
"Actually, Professor, I can do it in just one: shit."'
Your parody of Dumbledore's speech was excellent, as was the way in which you dealt with the slightly unrealistic lack of swearing to be found in the books. I could picture Dumbledore's shocked reaction perfectly. It was actually quite like AVPS in that whenever Lupin swore, the kids would all gasp and cover their ears until he changed it to 'poopy'. (Yes, I am trying to lure you to the dark side.)
As for six, it was very good too:
'"On something super special awesome and important, right?"
"No.'
Dumbledore's response was hilarious. It was the kind of win that even Charlie Sheen would be proud of. Harry was shot down, and it was this, aside from the fact that I do it all the time, that made the fact that he had stopped listening so funny. Having him literally not listen was also an effective way of dealing with the way that Harry overlooked the idea that Snape could well have been doing as instructed.
Your final parody was, of course, great. Only, I didn't get this:
"Got UST?"
What does that mean? I tried to google it, but nothing much came up - mostly drunken bloggers trying to write 'just'.
Anyway, I loved how you summarised what so many people were and are hung up on in the aftermath of the final book:
"Dumbledore was gay!
Horcruxes or Hallows?
A few characters died."
I doubt that any of us will ever really get over any of those things. Ah well. I love a bit of implied Albus/Gellert.
You also tackled one of my few bugbears:
"The punishment for being a villain was going bald, apparently.
All else was well."
I thought that giving Draco a receding hairline was harsh. Nothing about the description of Lucius, who was well into his fifties and had hair that leaves me with naughty thoughts, suggested that it was a genetic trait. It was buying into this idea that personal failings manifest in some physical characteristic, which makes me sigh as it contrasts with every moral lesson about prejudice that the series taught.
"One nauseating epilogue."
Amen to that!
It was a wonderful, light-hearted parody and I found it very easy to read. You worked some very clever ideas into it without making the story anything less than entertaining. Well done and thank you for the dedication, although with Moody/Tonks two in the pipes, I want some CrossGen later on. ;)

I found this really funny! I take it that you don't really like the Epilogue? I heard a lot of people don't. I really liked this story, though. Very funny!

I don't know in which mood you were when you wrote this, but surely it was odd. Which doesn't mean it was bad, au contraire! I LOVED this! It's refreshing, it's funny and even make up for the fact that Author of 69 stories is now gone xD
Great job and original idea!
