Yes, a normal reaction! I think the way Edward told Carlisle how it all came to be was hateful and Carlisle punching him was what he deserved. It's what Edward wanted.
Then you made my head spin...Bella's mother has a 10year old. And now Esme will be furious because that is her granddaughter. Wow this could go on and on, the neglected resentfullness, the bitter realization and on and on...

I wish I wrote, I don't so I read these great stories. I always do a fandom give back for all the great causes. What you guys do is awesome and it doesn't go unnoticed believe me. This story has a lot of surprises. I had never expected her Mom to take and raise as her own Bella's child. I guess there is more to this than meets the eye but how do you forgive someone who did something like that. Left you pregnant and alone bad enough all the name calling he did. This Edward doesn't deserve to see this child. This Edward I will have a hard time forgiving. Well so far anyway. So far his story doesn't make it better. There isn't much redemption there for him unless your leaving things out. Kudos to Carlisle, I would have done the same.

Makes you wonder what kind of person Bella is. She let her mother raise her daughter as her own and went off to Princeton, then met her husband and had another baby by him. Instead of taking care of her own child.
If her daughter knows Bella is her mother, she must have felt horrible knowing her mother didn't want her.
Charlie should reap what he sowed. He was not there for Bella. He cared more about his pride and his reputation that his daughters wellbeing.
I don't think Esme should have as much anger towards Charlie as she does but she does have a point.
Charlie is now dying of a terminal form of cancer and are his pride and reputation by his side comforting him? He did reap what he sowed...
Esme has no right to feel betrayed by Bella. The situation had nothing to do with her. Yes the child was family but Esme nor Carlisle has any say in Bella's decisions. They are not even the child's biological grandparents.
Edward is messed up in the head. I have a feeling that Bella will be a fairly bitter woman. I hope this lead up to her is not that. I hope that she just used Renee as a shield so that any Forks people wouldn't know she had a baby after leaving so that it wouldn't get back to Edward, since she doesn't / shouldn't want anything to do with him.

What the hell do they expect! She could have had an abortion, but she chose to let her mother raise her. She was just 17 and alone, Edward left her and treated her like crap! The hell with him, and if Emse sides with Edward the hell with her too. Her mother made it possible for her to have a good life and her baby is still part of Bella's life.

My all time favorite non HEA is Ultio but that is an AU. Vampires have angst too.
That poor girl. She was denied by her father and it looks like she was denied by her mother as well. That is really screwed up.

well this is the part where the light bulb goes on over his head ...I have been over thinking this story for weeks now thinking we were going to have to face Bella broken now only from the death of a husband but also of the child she conceived with Edward as a teenager ...but damn girl i never saw that twist coming good one I loved to be surprised and you really got me good with that one mom is raising her her granddaughter ...our Esme is really pissed for being mislead and deceived but the punch to the nose... so well deserved ... was priceless I have the next the 5 days off and will welcome any update you can send my way PNTB is one of my personal favorites it is in a place now that is nail biting well both of these stories are and i am so greedy
