you know it sounds to me like he's just giveing up, but than again that seems to be not that uncommon with youkai. i' m mean instead of just figghting for the right to exsiste they just ran away and hid themselves inside their little bubble world. the youkai could have tried makeing peace with the humans in fact if they still wanted to they could, but that would require effort to change things now wouldn't it and from the looks of it this guy is only good at giveing up. he can't honestly stand their and say that the combined powers of the youkai's magic, the kappa's technology, and the lunarian's understanding of both science in magic is incappable of dealing with such a simple problem as haveing a weak body and a shhort life span with their combined abilities they can easly solve the problems that force youkai and humans apart but yet again that would actualy require effort. when it comes down to it he's nothing more than a spinless coward who is so afraid of the future he'll make up any excuse he can to stop the progress of anyone who wants to make a change that will effect him in even the slightest way.

This chapter is terrible because you never stated Cirno was wearing glasses when she was in teacher mode. Perfect Math Class!Cirno REQUIRES glasses!
And this storyline should be dated to September of 2009, just so Cirno could return to Gensokyo on 09/09/09

Oh hey look, it's Cirno of the (9), beloved tomboy or beloved baka. Her personality pretty much jives in completely with what one would expect of her.

Hmm, Kyosuke comes a bit off in comparison to his previous outings here, trying to push Youmu back to Gensokyo. But I guess he has some ascended insight into the true nature of the stragglers he picks up after lots of practice.
I am reminded of Yui Goido from The World God Only Knows in how Youmu sort of flips the tables on Kyosuke by taking him out to do the exact same things he took her out to earlier. But at least she found something to do in the form of mentoring :P

Meiling really does get beat up on not getting much vacation, does she?
But I feel that you went with the wrong Aesop for Meiling here. Meiling('s fanon personality) doesn't really procrastinate, she's just lazy and to some case untalented, so in that case disliking people with gifts who don't use them is understandable. That could easily have been parlayed into her own laziness and lack of effort in self-improvement. Talking about Utopia and harmony, not so much.
And yes, I did catch that Sakuya reference. Pad-chan indeed. Now if only we get a flashback of that scenario!

Meiling seems a bit too...flummoxed, here, I guess? At odds of what I'd normally expect from her fanon personality, a bit more assertive towards anyone who's not Sakuya or Remilia or Patchy.
Also, no 'China' namedrop yet D:?
On a side note, completely unrelated to this story, Meiling would make a perfect Sleeping Beauty for a play. She has both the hair and the sleeping habits, it just remains to be seen whether she can sleep laying down as well as she can standing up.

Anyways, bait and switch from the end of last chapter, I see. Starts with Kyosuke trolling Yuma basically, and Yuma showing tsundere personality.
Yuuka's scenario I think may be the strongest, simply because she has a deeper conflict totally of her personality, as opposed to what were more ethical conflicts or personal struggles with the others, showcased by her hesitating over which realm she wanted to go to. Could have done with a bit longer on her own personal conflict, and then showing more than a little bit of her reformation off in Gensokyo.
(Not that I'm really a fan of the fanon sadist personality, but eh, what can you do with so little canon backstory)
I don't think Yuuka's flowers will last quite as long as Momiji's tree will of course, unless she blessed it or something of the sort :P

It was neat seeing Kyosuke reveal his power here, I guess, which reveals why Kaguya and Eiki didn't recognise Kyosuke last chapter. The encounters and fights with Nitori and Momiji were written decently, but I feel the whole conflict with Sasoku was wrapped up too quickly and easily in the 'defeat means friendship' logic.
But I see there's another 27 chapters so let's see what happens from now.

Say what now, we're actually getting some plot now? It takes a bit of the mystique away from the MC I guess to be a half-yokai instead of fully human (though given his name, he's probably Rinnosuke's brother or something of the like), and he's interacting with the residents he housed beforehand.

Hmm, while the byplay was fine, this chapter seemed a bit rushed compared to the previous three girls. I could see the Aesop a mile away, and while that's no problem, it seems, I dunno, a bit sketchy to reduce it to using video games to establish the lesson for Kaguya when she should have had some more organic interaction.
(On the other hand, dat strip poker scene!)
