It is an interesting concept that I have never seen done before. I guess it depends on how robotic Xander becomes and what type of cyber man he becomes. So is he like Cyborg from DC comics, Robocop, or Ghost in the shell. I also wonder how much of the original Xander personality may remain. Interesting concept though.

Well that was interesting! I'm curious as to how this will go. I must say though that the Buffy-Xander conversations were really well written and very touching. I look forward to reading the next chapter whenever you write it.

I love your writing, I was hoping for a Bionic x-over however I will take what I get. Keep the stories coming.

Well the story is great, character interaction is great, but I personally can't see it becoming a great story as robocop crossover witch isn't to say I am right , and I will definitely read more to see if you can do it, because I really like what you did wit the story so far.

Xandercop huh? odd mix but hey Xander did ask for something like this... maybe he should have worded it better?

Okay, please continue this. I want to see Robo-Xan.

Not bad. I hope to see more Xander POV in future samples.

Ok, one one hand, i think the story is great. The characters are very well portrayed, and the dialog's are excellent. On the other hand, having black hats like them, without a counterbalance is not perfect. I am waiting to form a better opinion about this when Xander is "well" again and too see his personality. To be quite honest, if Xander become some kind of Robocop, and i mean with the respect for the authority, i will be disappointed. I think the "Punisher personality", could be more real in the situation. The guy gets experimented on so his friends can die of grief.

Interesting story, I look forward to seeing it updated.

me thinks the lady doth protest too much. If Buffy is considering Xander a viable option in the future, then...duh...she does love him in that way already, she's just not acting on it because she's already involved with someone.

I gotta say upfront, eckles, I am honestly having mixed bag feelings about this story/storyline.

On one hand, you have a well-paced intro chapter that covered a lot of exposition without dragging heavily due to the text/speech-heavy nature of the Buffy-Xander and Buffy-Riley conversations contained within. And you sure as hell have captured the voices of Buffy, Xander and Riley, especially the subtle arrogance and cluelessness of Buffy when she deals with Xander and Riley when it comes to her relationship with them. The balance between Buffy getting to see further into the hidden side of Xander's personality and the revelations about the mental struggles he's been working through since being introduced to Buffy and the supernatural, and canon blindness Buffy had for Xander's drive to fight the things that go bump in the niguht came off perfectly, where Buffy gets to be multi-dimensional in her own struggles with what Xander means and trying to find a satisfactory position for him that with supposedly satisfy her needs for his safety and his need to keeping being part of the fight. And anyone who can make Riley seem more than Captain Whitebread and subconsciously unable handle certain things about life on the Hellmouth? Definitely aces in my book, eckles!

:D

However, the other side of the coin for this effort is the look the reader/viewer gets of the people who put the Initiative and Project ADAM into effect. I admit I sadly can believe elements of the US government's military could toss away allies and resources simply because said allies performed better than supposedly highly-trained Special Forces troops...but honestly? The 3-star general and his "protege" who are behind Xander's death and presumed future rebirth come off as rather cliche 'black hat' villains just as bad as Maggie Walsh in that seem to be more stereotypical power hungry madmen or mad scientists than 'Hawk' minded soldiers and scientists who are driven to defend their country against internal threats by any means needed...who see the Scoobies as amateur guerrilla forces who have gotten lucky in their fight against demons and the Hellmouth.

Also? I really don't see too much of a 'RoboCop' vibe coming off this story at the moment. Alex Murphy and Xander Harris definitely show a lot of mental similarities - though Murphy was definitely far more stable in the areas of self-esteem and emotional balance - but Xander's situation feels more like a darker variant of the "Six Million Dollar Man" rather than the "RoboCop" parable about corporate greed and excess arrogance in believing that better worlds can be created via a conglomerate rather than government-controlled changes. Yeah, Xander's gonna be ruled KIA and used as guinea pig for Gray's cybernetic tech experiments and for the US military's need to take control of anti-demon defence efforts away from the Scoobies and other "civilian" powers...but that's all hat and no cattle when it comes to doing a "RoboCop" crossover IMO.

I wanna see more, eckles, make no mistake. You have an amazing idea here and you've laid out some amazing character exploration to get the ball rolling...but it seems like it's rolling in a different direction than common expectation. Not a bad thing, mind you...the best stuff is the unexpected, but I can't see any recognizable elements of the RoboCop universe here other than "honest man doing the best job he can in rough times gets killed and resurrected via advanced tech to fight again." Just keep that in mind when you explore Xander's transformation and rebirth, please?

;)

I think I've read this first chapter before, a long time ago. I have to say, that the military part didn't sit too well with me. The fact that the 3-star would go so far as to want to eliminate a group who's been stopping world-ending events on a regular basis, just because of wounded pride? It's a dichotomy, since the Initiative itself seems to point to a long knowledge about the supernatural within certain circles of the military. As such, they'd know about the Council and what problems would ensue, should they kill the current Slayer. There's no guarantee the next Slayer called would be sent to Sunnydale as the show itself has shown, Slayers are usually working on the supernatural threats in their own regions (the Chinese Slayer killed by Spike was during the Boxer rebellion in China and there was no Hellmouth there).

I loved the talk between Xander and Buffy but I have to agree with Riley. He pegged Xander pretty good, down to the country music. It's indeed a guy thing. If a girl talked to me like that? Yeah...

So, Robocop crossover. I'm hoping that with what I remember of the movie and ADAM, that we'll not be seeing a Xander with only his lower jaw showing, the rest of him being titanium alloy outer carapace but more like the Six Million Dollar Man or terminator, everything covered with synth-skin, looking as if he's just a champion body builder.

Here's hoping you'll continue this and your other stories and update them all on a regular basis.
