Very sweet story you've written... But I, too am a little confused...
So is chapter nine just going back a ways to Act 1? Or after Merrill had stayed with Hawke for "a bit" in chapter 7, become lovers with him in chapter 8, she's now still iiving in the Alienage? The thoughts and such don't really make sense to me in that perspective if they're already lovers, so I'll hazard a guess that this is just going back a ways. Looking forward to if you decide to continue from the Fade incident.

This is a cute story! I've been following it for a while now.
Though I'm wondering, the chapters aren't in chronological order, are they? I noticed chapter nine takes place in Act I, while the eighth chapter is set in Act II.
Also, I never realized that Aveline had failed to notice/do anything about Kelder, that DOES seem a bit hypocritical of her, or at least a bit incompetent. Nice job for pointing that out!
