Ah SM having just turned 40 myself...

Great one shot , I love the way every other story seems to creep in in some way to the narrative. Such skill :)

What a lovely story, despite the sad undercurrent. Trust John to find an excellent birthday present for a man who isn’t showing much interest in anything following Sibyl’s passing. I somehow think Sherlock will spend the next few days curled up on the couch, reading, finally distracted somewhat from the loss he’s suffered.

Many thanks for another great story.

wow great story! I really loved it, all the attention to detail, spelling, etc etc.

I like the idea too, good job ^_^

This was so sweet, with just the right amount of sad. John handled the awkward birthday/death mix perfectly. I loved it.

And what a brilliant idea for the perfect birthday present for Sherlock Holmes.

Now I'm not sure if this one is my favorite! lol :D

I remember when I turned thirty, and the same for thirty-five. Everyone asked me how it felt to be a year older. I told them 365 days hadn't passed over night. I was actually only 24 hours older than I had been at that time the day before. ;)

Very nice piece and I love how John knows exactly what Sherlock needs and make sure everyone else complies too. Thanks again!

I've already really said everything I like about this to you, but I would just like to reiterate how beautifully this is written and how lovely it was to have Sibyl chip into this present for Sherlock as well as John. Lovely.

That was delightful! I enjoyed the whole story [and the history lesson] but my favorite part was the simple, endearing image of Sherlock sleeping in John's old bed.

No need it say "Well done!", they always are.

Seriously, yours is an excellent story arc. You write great characters and you are amazingly consistent. Thanks so much for all the stories.
