Awww! This little foray into Severus' mind enriches the story so much. I love it!

His perspective is utterly heartrending! You paint him so beautifully, depict him so raw and guarded, vulnerable and seeing him so exposed, and knowing the cost to him... it's magnificent. I really liked how you described the effects of touch deprivation, the touch-starved hunger and skin-hungry cravings, it almost makes me cry. Wonderful job, sweetie.

I am going to be late and I am blaming you , just so you know. I wanted to read a good story and started PT,L again. As I should have known, I read longer than wise last night and started again while having breakfast. Bad habit I will probably never get rid of.
Just now I am reading the Summer chapter from two POV simultaniously. I love doing that. You could have wrote the whole story from both points of view and I would not have been bored once.
Let me just tell you: You can write tension like nobody I know. I know what is going to happen, but I am nearly breathless. My body is tense and I want to read faster but not miss a single word as well. Until that one point "Want to see my scars" when all the tension goes puff. And I am free again. I feel happy because nothing bad happened.
And before I get sucked in again, I am leaving for the library.
Shame on you for writing so well that I can't stop ... and thank you for not keeping the tension going even longer... God knows when I would have gotten going then.

I really liked this one-shot. I thoroughly enjoyed the little bits of Post Tenebras Lux that were in Severus's point of view, and this makes one of the best scenes from your longer fiction more detailed, more alive.

Seeing Severus so vulnerable makes me want to give him a massive hug. (Like that's going to cure him!) But seeing all his hopes and fears laid out like that made me really feel for him and even though I obviously knew what was going to happen, I was still rooting for him all the way through as if I didn't!

You got the point of view from Severus very good! I think this is exactly how he would have felt and battled his inner demons. His fears dominate him still and he has a long way before him to achieve some sort of emotional balance. But the first steps are done :). You are brilliant in writing Severus complex and deep character!

Ha, I just found this and I read it right after reading the last chapter of CtS...which made for quite an amusing effect. I mean, "one day, we're not going to be interrupted" and this follows...well, they weren't. :))
Anyway, it's brilliant, naturally, and writing Severus in such a tense situation must have been difficult, he's so messed up I'm not sure I'd dare to describe his mental processes in an (for him) extreme situation.
I really like how you made his lust combine with his skin-hunger, too, in a kind of overwhelming general need. I suppose that's pretty much what it would be like.

Is it possible to be cute and sexy simultaneously without it being something that could get you arrested? Well, you certainly answered THAT one with this fic, although that wasn't the main point. It was definitely a fresh way to look at the beginnings of their more intimate relationship - although to be honest, it was intimate to begin with because of the people and the circumstances - and I sadistically enjoyed Severus' insecurities, if only because I remembered Hermione's own doubts and lip-biting. I'm certainly glad that Ishtart asked for this oneshot!

I think my favorite fics are the ones written from Severus' POV. I really delight in reading about his inner thoughts and the whys behind his actions. I also love when he is written as being so very focused on Hermione (or, my OTP, Harry) but he is still generally stoic to the eyes of everyone else.
This was delightful, and exactly what I was hoping for when I read the summary. I got an absolute thrill out of how desperately Severus wanted physical contact, and how deeply it effected him.

wow. what a great addition to your story. I really appreciate seeing this chapter through his point of view. I find myself re-reading the whole story and thinking it about from his POV after reading this. His emotions are so clear and I love the way you can write the complex characters so well. I hope you will have another one shot up soon since there are 2000 reviews :)

Perfect...I am sometimes *meh* about altenrate pov's when it is a retell of the same scene but this was just perfect and boy do I love getting inside that man's mind! Thanks for this and to Ishtart for the prompt - I am so glad you took it up.
