for I'm a Lucky Stiff7/4/2011 c1 Nathan fan
First off, I love this episode because it really showed both of them getting into each other's personal lives. Kate finds out what the money means to Rick and he comes up with the idea for the scholarship fund for Kate's mom.
I love the whole premise of your piece - that Kate has been journaling since she met Castle and that she writes her responses to his comments and observations. I think the whole idea is very in keeping with Kate's character. A perfect example is from this episode when Kate's repeats Rick's words to Martha. She won't give him the satisfaction of validating his thoughts to his face, but she definitely finds merit in some of them.
I love Kate's realization that, given the freedom to do what he pleases with his time, Rick chooses to spend it with her. That just speaks volumes!
I think my favorite bit from the story though, is the thought of Kate writing "OMG! I have Rick Castle's personal cell number!" Considering what a fan she had been of his work for years, it's very believable that she'd have a freak-out moment :)
I thought this piece was very insightful :)
