A noble and stupid reason, which is why most people who belong together break up. Maybe you could do a one shot of Rose and Scorpius talking it out. I agree with you assessment of Scorpius' mother. I always thought she would be a kin to a Hufflepuff, very forgiving and able to see/bring out the good in people.
