Very good premise and a very entertaining read this far. I like the way you flick back and forth between the present and flashbacks, and the irregular flashback order. It breaks my heart over and over again . Very effective , well done ;)

Finally found your other Sam/Baird story.. this one... and I love it. You really write these characters so very well together. These 4 chapters are fantastic. Dealing with the fallout and aftermath of Sam losing her pregnancy/baby... that would be such a horrible thing to deal with.
And then for Baird... who barely had enough time to even process he was gonna be a father... when he thought Sam was infertile! Yikes.. I can't say I blame him for being so bitchy about it.. lol
I really like the alternating chapters with the flashback scenes. Great juxtaposition and manner to tell the story.
Can't wait for you write more chapters!

Without a doubt brilliant work done on the flashback between Cole and Baird. You really do sell yourself short in being able to portray things in English. It'd be hard enough doing so normally but managing it with a drunk Baird... you did a really good job, and I particularly loved how Cole never reacted to exactly what he was saying, simply kept up the humor from his end until towards the end there. Excellent portrayal of their friendship yet again.
There isn't really much more than this that I want to say, except the last bit, where Sam did try to tell Baird, I thought that scene was both frustrating and sweet all at the same time. It's clear they like each other. For goodness sake, if he'd just shut his darn mouth for once! ^_^

As soon as she was getting closer to him than just in bed there was always the point he began to build his I-don’t-give-a-**-about-anything-because-you-are-all-annoying-me wall around him, hindering her from understanding him.
Just PERFECT! So Baird it’s unbelievable... well done .
“Cole’s here, too. Go and look for him and I’m sure you’ll get your action. Among trees and mud." - Cracked me up hard… nice one.
Cole’s interruption of their kissing… Mwa. Ha. Ha. Poor guys. And this from Cole: “Wow,” Cole said when Sam and Boomer Lady’s dog had left. “Whose tail’s also wagging?” He bumped his buddy with his elbow.
My only qualm was I felt Bernie’s portrayal was a little out of character in places with the dog. Then again, on the other hand when Mataki is in a relaxed setting she would be entirely different. Just a personal thing on my part, that’s all. We all have our different takes on characters .

Awww. Dam, this is too adorable! im loving the Baird and Sam pairing. I mean Baird is my fav charecter and to see him be able to let some love in is fantastic...I half expected him to hug Sam at the end of gears3 lol

We were talking extensively via MSN while I was actually Beta reading this one so you know most of what I'm about to say. To me, your take on Baird and Cole (especially when they are together) is just so perfect. Dom and Marcus are really well portrayed too, but you excel with your most favorite member of Delta and his best buddy .
All the flashbacks were of great interest in the background of the story as a whole and once the reader settles into them the flow is also appropriate. The stand out part to me though, the scene that made me laugh so hard for almost the entirety of it was when Sam was first assigned to Delta. The banter in that was just outstanding. Baird's attitude, Sam's... and Cole added in there thinking she was hot... it was all so well done.
It is really sad that Sam lost the child, but Baird blaming her and Marcus for it is just not on. A choice was made, it wasn't the right one, if anything the father of that child should be there for the mother but, of course, this is Damon we're talking about. Stubborn, arrogant fool! Will be interesting to see how he comes down from how he feels about this one.
