Alright, I must ask. Who were the men behind the curtain? There was four of them, no? Yet it is Aragorn that questions him himself, is it not? Then those men are Imrahil - as stated - Faramir, The steward of Arnor - Hallborn, and who? Hurin would be recognized, no? And... Argh - I cannot think of a forth Man he wouldn't know that is around and a lord of the relm. And I'm desperately curious!

I am truly -for lack of better word - enjoying this tale. I like all the nuances of it, and it sometimes feels more like a Novell than fan fiction, especially with so thought out details and a so great length. (Not that a lot of fan fiction aren't skillfully written, but you have made or developed so many of the characters yourself)
I loved the little things and attention to details and ideas in this chapter, such as that it was Bilbo that Elrond would consult about pipeweed. And the objections to the ducking under part was just brilliant. Ah well the boys might be gay or naught, but I know that ditch! Brilliant. I will read the rest eagerly. )

I've been hanging back with this story - I knew I would find it upsetting, I knew the situation behind it - and wanted to read it all in one go, which I've now done over the past two days. Once again I am amazed and moved by your strength and beauty of writing. I'm also crying at the situation of the Memphis Three. I just wish we still had an Aragorn with his power and responsibility and compassion among us. Thank you so, so much for writing this. (And when will we ever see how Hurin and Lynesse got together...?)
