Just one problem, in the beginning you wrote the story in third person but towards the end you wrote it in first person through Tom's point of view.
Other than that, I really liked the plot :) It was a bittersweet ending 3

Wow...I can't exactly say that this was well-written but the plot is simple, subtle, and amazing. It almost moved me to tears. I really liked the ending, and how you ended it with those last words. Personally, I think you should change the title to "All I Wanted To Do Was Say Good-Bye." But that's totally up to you. I think it would sound more interesting that way. But anyway, great job! :)
