I completely LOVED that episode. If Sousuke were real, I would want to hug him and comfort him for all the sadness and pain he had to endure while he was away on that mission!
The poor guy.
Kaname is his anchor in the time of storms and she doesn't even know it (which makes it better!).
You wrote this one extremely well. I loved it. The emotion and the hidden peek into the "after". It was great. I'm rambling, but you got Sousuke's mindset down pat.
If Kaname really did lose it on him, I'm certain he would have shattered, too.
No one can survive something like that without scars.

That was very enjoyable to read. It seems like it really is just a missing scene. That is one of my fav scenes as well. Sousuke's sweeter side is always so cute in regards to Kaname.

i had wondered what sousuke was thinking after that mission. i mean that was a very stressful mission and he had a very long day. its nice that he has kaname to comfort him.

This should've definitely happened after that scene in the FMP anime! I really loved the character exploration while this was written as a tender moment of the Sousuke and Kaname pairing when Sousuke was in his most vulnerable. And the fact that this fic is in Sousuke's point of view is a nice touch as we get to see inside his head on what he's been thinking about ever since he finished that devastating mission in The Wind Blows at Home arc.
^^ Definitely, this was a scene that was the turning point of their relationship (at least in the anime since the light novel didn't include this arc), so I'm really happy you extended it into something like this. Both are too tired to interact as they always do with each other, so it doesn't screw this moment up. And it really emphasizes that Sousuke has Kaname to come back home to, always.
So, thank you for giving me this good read~
