The story is good so far, though the NiGHTS reference feels hammered in rather than natural.
I would suggest, however, that you go back through the story for errors, because there are a lot of places where you make common but jarring mistakes, such as always spelling what should be written "you're", meaning 'you are', with "your", which means 'belonging to you'.

Okay. Sorry. I may have overreacted there. I am just simply put out that Twilight STILL doesn't get to find out what the mind delve spell does exactly. AND GRANNY SMITH HAD THE BOOK THERE THE WHOLE TIME AND SHE LIED ABOUT IT AND TWILIGHT WON'T GET TO SEE WHAT HER FRIENDS SAW AND SHE WILL NEVER KNOW WHAT HAPPENED AND...
*ahem* Sorry, again. Overreaction. This was very nicely written. The plot elements work just like you'd expect in a story that doesn't let this character get to understand what happened and whatnot. It's not surprising at all that you chose to end it this way. But it's still annoying. I understand the concept and all, but I hate when the characters in a story don't get to know something significant. It's like secrets. I hate secrets. Ah well. Good read. Sorry if I scared you, I just... Yeah.

REALLY enjoyed this chapter. The characters reacted in ways you would think they would, the pacing was excellent, and it left me desperate for the next chapter. Can't wait to read on! Keep up the great work!
