This must be my fourth time reading this and I just can't get enough. It has a very endearing plot and it's quite well written. Funny how Martin Freeman ended up being a hobbit too XD I can't watch the movie hobbit without thinking about this fic. Well ty for feeding my fantasy obsession and be my guest to write some more :)

I would actually marry you if you wrote a sequel! This is so amazingly brilliant I think I'm going to die because of all the feels I can't explain how brilliant this is! It's as brilliant as Steven Moffat!

I'm sure you heard that a lot of times already but this story is awesome. Seriously like an ideal mix of Hobbit and Sherlock. Although it was hard from me to imagine Moriarty as something horribly looking ;) And you made a total ** out of Molly (but that's fine, someone had to be the bad one). Oh, and the lack of Mrs. Hudson was sad ;( But it's great anyway and very well written. I imagine you had to devote a lot of time for this (but I might be wrong, you may be one of the 'quick writers'). Keep up the good work, and never give up writting ;)

Was recommended this by a friend and I can say that I was very pleasantly surprised! I'm extremely skeptical of any Sherlock/LotR sort of thing since many I've read have no idea what they're talking about but you really knew your stuff, writing was amazing and a very enjoyable story. Keep up the wonderful writing.

Good God, that was brilliant! I've always sort of entertained a kind of head canon mixing LOTR and Sherlock together, but I didn't think anybody would really write one with a decent plot instead of just a crack tic - especially a tic as good as this!
Man... that was amazing. That's definitely going on the favorites list.

This is actually pretty interesting and a fun, Sherlock-LOTR xover, without necessarily going into the whole Smauglock territory. Mind you, I love Smauglock and Johnbo stories but this was refreshing.
Just one minor quibble - not sure if you intended this for brevity's sake though - if you did, apologies.
Numenor is a country, not a house or a family bloodline. In the Middle-earth-verse, it is the equivalent of Atlantis.
When it sank beneath the waves, only Elendil and the Faithful were spared, being able to sail away from Numenor to Middle-earth. Elendil is descended from the Ruling House of Numenor and thus, is of the royal bloodline that began all the way to Elros, Elrond's brother. However, since we do have "The Faithful" - it is safe to assume that these are Numenoreans of other families. Remember, the land of Numenor was given as a gift to the Men who were allied with the Elves against Morgoth Bauglir, the Original Dark Lord. So you have the family of Elros as Kings of Numenor ruling over their subjects. As a result, everyone of Numenorean descent have long lives and are slow to age. The older and purer the bloodline, the stronger the gift - at least that was how Tolkien intended it. For example, Denethor should have looked as young as Aragorn does, because he is of an old Numenorean family, though not of the royal bloodline. He just aged because of his use of the Palantir.
Aragorn, being of royal blood though, has some additional gifts and graces, being as he's also got Elven blood in his ancestry. Since his ultimate ancestor is Elros - Elrond is actually related to him and thus Elrond is free to claim Aragorn as kin and be obligated to shelter him when he was just a kid. :)
You could just rework the story a little to simply say anyone with Numenorean ancestry was Moriarty's target or you could say they were targeted because they were descendants of a specific Numenorean family. :)

I FREAKIN' LOVED IT! Your story was sooo good! What a brilliant idea! I wouldn't mind a sequel either, you know, if you ever feel like it(hint hint). Everything was so intimantly lovely! Even Sherlock helping John down from his horse made me squeal with happiness! Ooooh and the ending! It was brilliant! Everything was BRILLIANT. Thank you so much for sharing this.

Amazing... I just can't get over how wonderful this is. It's so beautiful!
I was literally reading and inch from the screen, scared that John wasn't going to make it. Oh my god. I was so-just... Yeah, not very articulate.
This was wonderful, thanks for writing it.

I am a total Johnlock lover, and AU makes me happy inside. You have made a superb fic that was charming, true to the AU-verse and a pleasure to read! Keep up the good work!

Lovely. Sherlock made a fascinating Elf, and Hobbit!John was just adorable! I loved the part where Sherlock plays his prayer-never has there been a love song truer to the phrase :) What happened to Molly at the end, though? The Holmeses wouldn't have let her get away with such a horrible betrayal. Then again, she is under Elrond's protection...
