This is the first story I've read that makes use of McG's delicious and extensive backstory released in Pottermore. And you've done it so well - subtlely illustrating her softer side (admittedly mellowed more with age) and the guardedness of her and the jealousy with which she guards her secrets even from her dearest. She's such an awesome HBIC in the books that this was a great way to make her more human.

Love this story! Is Prof. McGonagall really Rose's grandmother? Because you mention that in a lot of your stories. Anyway, great story as usual. A little random towards the end, but that's what happens when you get a sudden realisation, I guess.

Lucy, I *love* this. Hurray for long fics! And no, it's not too rambling. I love how you wove in so many different storylines (from your previous works and from Pottermore-oh, and about Scorpius!)-it's very smooth. I really like how we see a different side of Minerva here (or maybe her *true* side), and the way you've written the relationship between her and Rose. You can feel the love they have for each other. Favorite line: "Minerva looked at Rose, and saw so much of both Ron's understanding and Hermione's intelligence in her face . . . ."
