You know, I didn't think I'd like this. Johnny ghost stories, and adult Squee stories usually don't appeal to me. But, I must say that I love this. I'm not sure exactly what to think of it, but I love it. Chapter two was kinda heart wrenching. My eyes watered near the end (sappy, right? but, rare, none the less). You seem to write Devi as a strong enough individual. And I really hope you keep that up. Too many stories portray her as weak.
I can't help but feel a lot of hopelessness in this though, him being a ghost and all. I imagine being a ghost to be torment, so I'm wondering/dreading what is to come next, if you write more (I've read more of your work, so I'm aware of your computer problems).
But, overall, this is a great story so far. I hope to read more in the future.

i usually don't like those "many years later..." or grown-up squee or johnny's dead FFs, but this seems good so far! when i read this chapter at first, i thought she wasn't realizing johnny was dead and she was going to freak out when he explained it to her or whatever. interested and eager to see what happens next and what could possibly be in that box! :) :P
