Yup. I cried. I guess I wasn't really expecting Snape to FIND him dead, so it kind of made it worse, but then when Neville started to speak, the dam broke. Kudos to you, man. You are a literary genius.

I'm crying. I know I am. Everyone lives differently, but they are born the same way. Through some pain and hardwork. Its the environment that really shapes us. Harry had some rough, too rough, shaping. But he came out soft touching and giving to everyone around. *sniff* Snape, he too had rough shaping. He came out hard, but the soft touch of Harry in the end and the help of Lilly's soft touch in Snape's memories melted the solid formation and shaped to their touches. I will miss Snape in the real book. I hated how he died. In this fanfic I felt so sorry for Harry and Snape who feels another sin for his closed mind.

This was very heartwrenching to read, but I enjoyed it nevertheless. You captured Severus' regret perfectly. Hindsight's always 20/20 and the worst torture imaginable is the one where you say "If only . . ." How many millions of people say that of a loved one who has died in a car accident, or committed suicide?
I'm glad though that Sev will try and save more kids like Harry. In the end, that will honor him best.

I love the story. It's well written, and has so much emotion in it I teared up a few times, but the actual tears came when In the Arms of an Angel came on during a commercial.

Wow.
This is a very powerful piece.
It captures friendship in a way that makes sense from the three four Gryffindor friends who interacted most meaningfully with Harry.
And it uncovers, with brutal honesty, how stupid and blind Severus was. There was EVERY reason he should have picked up on Harry's abuse, but he was too filled with his own hatred of Harry's father, who was dead for a decade before Snape ever met James's son.
Harry never did ask for anything. And I like how you decided that, even in death, Harry was forgiving enough to give Severus a way to redeem himself, if not forgive himself, from his guilt.
Very nicely done.
Sincerely,
Miriam

Ugh, you know how to make a girl cry
Good fic, not that I was able to read it fast because of the tears.
