Really wonderfully done! The story of Ashara as a young girl growing into adulthood is fascinating. You can already see her adult personality coming through.
The awkwardness she feels about her changing body is something I think all women can appreciate. The steps between childhood and adulthood are filled with that kind of emotion, I think. You portrayed it very well.
I really enjoy the interaction between Merrill and Ashara in this, as you can clearly see the differences. It becomes evident that Ashara is a natural leader, and that Merrill's gifts with language and her love for forgotten history started early.

Great start to this fic
For the most part I think you've gotten the mindset of an 8 year old down tho Ashara seems a bit too mature for her age but I'm not sure don't remember much from when I was 8

This is great! I love how you describe Tamlen, Fenarel, and Ashara's relationship. I sense some conflict ahead, because Ashara might have to go live with a new clan D: Unless Merill goes, in which case poor Merill! Anyway, love your story and can't wait to see where it goes!
