Glad Alex doesn't have to go back to World's End but I feel so sorry for Gene...He's dead too :'(
I hope they both find what they're looking for in Bolton.

Grrrr... you don't want to know my thoughts on Layton, they're filled with expletives and shouldn't be shared before the watershed! I knew there was more to Braxton than met the eye but, oh, I hadn't been expecing that at all, what a twist - now I am wondering how the story is going to progress because Alex and Gene have really been through the millso far... I am going to be waiting (im)patiently for the next chapter! Just loving this x

Oh, I was on the edge of my seat reading this chapter - half fearing, half-hoping that Layton would kill Alex - isn't that awful?
A fantastic see-saw journey for Gene and Alex, going from hope, to despair and then back again.

Oh poor Alex! What does this mean for her now - will she have to go to the pub? Will Gene let her go alone! Or will he go with her. Or better yet, she could stay with him. Help him run his kingdom; be his lioness.

Unbelievabley poignant and yet gripping and action packed chapter. Poor Gene and Alex can't keep their hands off each other no matter how hard they try. And then there's Evan also wrestling with an incredible dilemma - not helped by Layton popping out of the woodwork to complicate matters.
Edge of seat stuff.
